Using Step 8 with Nibbler and Maths to generate rhythms
video upload by Peter Plugs Patches
"Using patterns from the Schlappi Nibbler to control the current stage of the Joranalogue Step 8, with the Make Noise Math attenuating and offsetting the cv signal to create variations. Sounds are coming from Quad Drum, SSF Entity Ultraperc, Mutable Instruments Plaits, Winter Modular Zaps and Basimilus Iteritas Alter.

NRSynth Quatuor Polyphonic sounds
video upload by Nr Synth
"Some exemples of the polyphonic mode (typical 'Oberheim' flavour).
WARNING: i'm not a musician, don't expect a 'killer' playing...
Long resonant filter sweep.
Brass jumpy style
Polysynth saw
Another thing with resonance!
As usual, no traitement except delay/reverb in Cubase."
Patch Memory #5: Micromonsta 2: one synth voice as a complete drum kit
video upload by djr brunstein
"Using one voice of an Audiothingies Micromonsta 2 to build a pseudo drum voice. Sorry for the vaguely rage-baity thumbnail - obviously this synth won't replace any of those drum machines but a man has to find his clicks somewhere!
In the video I say that the synth is in stock- unfortunately it went out of stock whilst I was editing. You can sign up to the waitlist here: https://www.audiothingies.com/"
Announcement + UDO DMNO Demo
video upload by Hazel Mills
"Thanks UDO Audio for having me involved in this astounding instrument. Something to celebrate for women music in the world of electronic music.
The DMNO is possibly my favourite of their synths. Here I'm demo-ing some of the factory presets that I designed.

It's Finally Here // UDO DMNO Review and demo
video upload by Starsky Carr
"The UDO Domino *is here… and it might be one of the most interesting hybrid synths we’ve seen in years. In this full demo, review, and walkthrough, I explore what makes this *8-voice hybrid polysynth so unique — from its dual synth architecture to its incredibly flexible filter section and deep modulation capabilities.
With FPGA oscillators, analog-style waveforms, 32 digital waves, and a powerful dual-engine design inspired by classic SEM-style layouts, the Domino sits somewhere between vintage character and modern sonic experimentation. And yes… it can get beautifully weird.
In this video, you’ll hear real-world sound demos, explore the interface, and see how far you can push this synth — from lush pads to aggressive, experimental textures.
🎛️ What you’ll learn in this video:
Overview of the UDO Domino architecture
Dual synth engines (Domino 1 & 2) and layering possibilities
FPGA oscillators + digital waveforms
Deep modulation options (LFOs, envelopes, cross-modulation)
Advanced filter modes: low pass, band pass, high pass, phase & more
Stereo, parallel & series routing
Effects: chorus, drive, delay, reverb & EQ
Play modes, binaural mode & voice variations
Real sound demos and performance examples
🎧 Why this synth stands out
The Domino goes far beyond a traditional polysynth. With extreme flexibility in routing, modulation, and filtering, it behaves more like an experimental sound design tool than a conventional keyboard — while still being intuitive and hands-on.
🎹 My verdict
This isn’t just another synth — it’s a playable, exploratory instrument that encourages experimentation and rewards creativity. If you like synths that go beyond the obvious… this one’s worth a serious look."
Speak & Music — Lo Fi Retro Synth as a Virtual Instrument (Decent Sampler)
video upload by A Last Picture From Voyager
"I turned a rare 1980s Texas Instruments toy synth - the 'Speak & Music' - into
a full virtual instrument. Here's the demo and a live track built entirely with it.
This little plastic relic from 1981 has one of the most unique lo-fi tones I've
ever heard: wobbly oscillators, crushed bit-depth, and a raw analog character that
no modern synthesizer can replicate. So I sampled every note, every texture, every
glitch — and built a playable virtual instrument from scratch.

ABOUT THE SOUND
─────────────────────────────────
The Speak & Music was part of Texas Instruments' "Speak & Spell" family —
a range of educational toys with surprisingly musical internal hardware.
Its built-in synthesizer produces the kind of retro, degraded, lo-fi tones
that music producers have been chasing with vintage synth VSTs and lo-fi
sample packs for years. This is the real thing, captured and made playable.
Perfect for: lofi beats, ambient pads, cinematic textures, lo-fi music production,
experimental electronic music, and anyone who loves the sound of broken vintage gear.

APHEX TWIN - Pulsewidth COVER (Elektron Digitakt2, Roland SH01a, Prophet REV2)
video upload by nicola neeco
"Recreating Aphex Twin’s “Pulsewidth” using modern hardware synths: the Elektron Digitakt II, Roland SH-01A, and Sequential Prophet Rev2.
This is my cover version of one of the most iconic tracks from Selected Ambient Works 85–92, carefully crafted to capture its hypnotic pulse and raw analog character.
To rebuild the drum section true to the original, I used Roland R-8 drum samples (the same machine Aphex Twin used) loaded into the Digitakt II, and programmed its sequencer for the rhythmic patterns.
And for the iconic melody the same sample Aphex used: the first seconds of the track Butterfly Holocaust by Neutron 9000."
