Sequential Prophet 10 Vintage Dual 61-Key with MIDI and Rev 1 downgrade

"Original vintage Prophet 10 with Wine Contry MIDI and Analogue Renaissance REV-1 downgrade installed in the lower board. With this 'downgrade' the CEM3320 VCFs in one of the two 5 voices board are replaced with the new SSM2040 VCF clones, like in the Rev 1 & 2 Prophet 5. This way you have both Rev 1/2 and Rev 3 filters in the same vintage synth. REV -1 downgrade also adds two new features not present in the original Rev 1/2:

- variable Q-compensation that restores the loss of bass when resonance is increased (14dB is lost at the onset of self-oscillation in the original filter design).

- the option to use the REV -1 as 2-pole filter instead of the original 4-pole configuration. Most non-linear effects happen in the first two filter stages, and the 2-pole mode lets you hear these effects unfiltered by the last two stages."

Pics of the inside and the user manual below. "This edition is rare, and cannot be found anywhere as a set. Made by EMS London, and works differently than the Synthi A, although it appears to be the same. Here is a breakdown of what you get below:

In addition to the power supply, new patch cables as well as the original patch cables (standard mini jack), the lid of the "suitcase synthesis" and the original manual (or textbook) are included.

The modules of the EMS Synthis work perfectly, the overall sound and especially the filter sound very high-quality.

VCO – Voltage Controlled Oscillator • with the vibration forms sine, sawtooth, triangle and rectangle with external control voltage input for pulse width modulation • VCF – Voltage Controlled Filter • Multimode filter with 12 dB slope, low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and phaser • LFO – Low Frequency Oscillator • with the vibration forms sine and rectangle • SRG – Slow Ramp Generator •

EMS VCS 3 The Putney SN 3211

"This is a rare chance to secure an original VCS3 in excellent condition. This is one of the most iconic and revered synths of all time.

The VCS3 (nicknamed the Putney) is an analog monosynth housed in a distinctive angled wooden case, a truly classic synth. EMS (Electronic Music Studios) was created in England back in 1969. The VCS3 was one of their first synths and it is still a great, unique, funky little unit! Pictured above is the Mark I model. Pictured is another unit with the small wood-cased DK2 voltage-control keyboard required to play the VCS3.

It has three oscillators, and a unique matrix-based patch system. Instead of patch wires, the VCS3 uses a patchbay grid in which the synth components are laid out, and signal routing is accomplished by placing small pins into the appropriate slots. The VCS3 was, in actuality, a modular type synthesizer reduced down to an extremely portable size.

We are often asked whether mods adversely affects the value of a VCS3. Some collector types may view it as sacrilege, but most who buy a VCS-3 to use often value mods highly – many of our customers ask for more, rather than less, modifications. So, in short, in our view the answer is mods often add value/appeal rather than detract. These wonderful synths should be used rather than placed in glass cases. You won't see another VCS3 with as many perfectly integrated mods as this one has."

Next Level Drum Modules A Perfect Pair // Bohm + Drum Farm

video upload by Starsky Carr

"Two of the most powerful drum modules in Eurorack, working better together than apart. In this review and demo I dig into the Knobula Drum Farm and the Ohmforce Bohm — and show how combining them gives you a complete, performance-ready techno drum setup in a single rack.

The Knobula Drum Farm is a drum synth AND sampler in one: 16 synth models (FM, Simmons, 808/909-style snares, toms, congas, claps, ring-mod tones, hats, cymbals and more), 16 onboard effects (reverb, delay, multi-tap, reverse, cymbal crash), plus two sample players and 256 factory samples across 16 banks. Sample your own synth tones on the fly, record straight into the module, and route everything through the main or aux outputs for instant variation.

The Ohmforce Bohm is a seriously deep kick drum module with FM, tube drive, bass and wavefolder shaping — but the Performer (DJ filter, beat roll, beat slice, ducking) and Groove (clocked rumble/reverb tails) expansions are what turn it into a room-filling techno machine. Duck the Drum Farm through the Bohm and the whole groove locks together as one living pattern instead of separate hits.

Together these run around £535 (Bohm + expansions) and £450 (Drum Farm) — close to £1,000 of drums — but if you're building a live, hands-on modular setup, they're stunning."
