Vhikk X by Forge TME is a multi-algorithm experimental synth workshop specialising in [but not limited to] complex drones/basses, rich textures, and dynamic sfx. It combines sound generation and effects processing into one module with multiple different algorithms.

The nature of the Vhikk X makes it suitable for situations where a compact, ergonomic, and self-contained sound source/processor would be welcome - for example smaller modular systems, or large systems where a self-contained sound island with minimised cognitive overhead would be desirable."

"I rebuilt my live rig around one module, the Forge TME Vhikk X, and this is the whole setup explained.

I go through every module in the case, what it does in the set, and why it's in there. There's a lot of playing in this one — I wanted you to hear each part in context rather than take my word for it, so most of the talking happens over a running patch.

The Vhikk X is the newest module and the one I'm still learning. It usually gets demoed as a drone voice, which isn't what I do, so I've been pushing it somewhere else. I cover what works, what doesn't, and whether it earns 24HP in a case I have to carry to a gig.

If you're putting together a rig you actually want to play in front of people, rather than one that only works at home, this should be useful."

"A no-talking sound demo of all 24 new factory presets included with Partials & Discrepancies 1.4.0, releasing Friday, September 25, 2026.

Each preset gets a short improvised performance and nothing else, so this is mainly a chance to hear a bit of the range of the synth and the character of the new factory bank.

A lot of the new presets lean toward the more emotional, slightly broken, unstable, cinematic, or textural side of the synth, with movement in the additive oscillator, slot sequencer, discrepancies, modulation, and the newer performance features.

Most examples are played through Geometry Reverb, which is included free with any paid Unusable Engineering plugin purchase.

There is no talking in this video, just the synth, the presets, and the little touch of reverb.

Partials & Discrepancies 1.4.0 will be available on September 25, 2026.
