Dream of the moons | Roland Jupiter 6, Rhodes Piano, and Fractal Audio FM3 lush ambient soundscape
video upload by MIDERA
"Wow, made it to 11,000 subscribers. It’s funny because it would seem like a “success” so to speak… but it’s not so different than when I only had 100 subscribers or 500, or 5,000. Truthfully, I guess the successes I have are raising my kids, it’s the time I truly feel like “I made it.” My career doesn’t feel so successful either. But I do enjoy the stuff I do here, and I suppose doing it has allowed me to write at least 21 albums worth of electronic music, which in itself is a feat I suppose.
Success just doesn’t seem to be an endpoint. You can look at someone who seems successful, and they can be moments from catastrophe, either self-inflicted or otherwise, or they don’t view their lives as successful at all. It’s like success is that pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. You think it’s there and all you have to do is catch up with it, but you really won’t ever see it, because there is no pot of gold. Some of the most miserable, hateful people I know… have lots of the stuff. I guess I am learning something in this world: that money and success won’t be there to make me happy. But I feel real joy around my family, and some joy around things I achieve, but it’s pretty clear that there will never be a thing that I do that tells me that I was or will be successful. And that’s good enough for me.

Teenage Engineering Field System Goes All Black | Superbooth 2025
video upload by Thomann Synthesizers
"At Superbooth 2025, Teenage Engineering introduced a new black colorway for several devices in its Field System, creating a more unified look across its portable production tools. The updated lineup includes black editions of the TP-7 field recorder, TX-6 mixer, and CM-15 condenser microphone. The OP–XY sequencer, which was already available in black, remains unchanged, while the OP–1 Field synthesizer, also part of the ecosystem, retains its original silver finish.
The Field System is designed for seamless integration and mobility, offering a modular setup for musicians and producers who need flexibility on the move. All devices are battery-powered and use USB-C connectivity, allowing them to function both independently and together. The new black editions maintain the same technical specifications as their predecessors, now with a consistent visual identity across most of the range."

"Envelope-journeys, resonance-whispers,
Patching possibilities, crafting symphonies from electricity.
What stories sleep in the CS-30's vintage circuits?
Patch-point pulses, filter-sweeps,
Hands command, coaxing the latent into form.

Beat Friend Drum Machine Demo
video upload by audio.computer
"Beat Friend is a benevolent, semi-autonomous analogue drum machine. It wants to help."
"Beat Friend is the first offering from audio.computer, a UK-based duo making ‘benevolent, semi-autonomous music machines’. Beat Friend is an analogue drum machine, using circuits based on the ‘twin-t’s from the legendary Roland CR-78. Each drum has a slider that changes the drum’s complexity within one of the 30+ preset patterns, which already allows hundreds of variations on any given beat.
But wait! There’s more! Turning the Enthusiasm knob allows Beat Friend to add or subtract notes from the pattern as it sees fit, either keeping the pulse of the pattern or going completely off piste. It's like having an enthusiastic robot Labrador playing a 70's electronic drum kit just for you.
All the sounds are routed through a Triforce of digital and analogue effects, which...well, you just have to turn knobs to find out what they do. If you’ve ever wanted to base a track on a 7/8 samba through a bit-and sample crusher, then this is the unit for you.
And, sure, if you’re a control freak who absolutely must design every bar, you can control the drums individually via MIDI. It even includes a letterpress-printed manual, numbered to match your unit.
Beat Friend plays in glorious mono and is powered by a universal 12V power supply (included in the box)."
