"If you are looking at this you know what it is. The granddaddy of 80’s era programmable poly synths. This one had a $3k service by Jeff at The Analog Lab (one of the creators of the synth) about 18 months ago and hasn’t left my studio since. This is a hybrid of Revs, between a 2 and a 3 as many are.
Everything works perfectly when controlled by the VPK5. It sounds incredible and has real depth to its programmability. Auto tunes perfect. Comes with the power cord, pdf manual, and I’ve got a hard case that I’ve adapted to ship the VPK5.
One note, some people get a cord adapter to use other midi controllers rather than the VPK5. If you go this route Jeff said the midi notes may hang or be glitchy. There is an early EPROM that he did not have on hand that is needed to swap in to correct that issue. I’ve only used it with the VPK5 so it works 100% as it should. You can keep an eye out for the Rev 2 EPROM if you want to add that functionality. ALL ELSE WORKS PERFECTLY."

I got this to see what all the fuss was about and compare it to my own Syrinx eurorack filter adaptation. But alas, it's not clocking much studio time around here so I'm letting it go. Please note this is a version 1.0 production model purchased directly from AnalogFX. And it's green!...a color no longer being offered as it seems. Includes box, manual, USB cable to run MIDI host on computer, power supply w/ 4-pieces adapter prong assortment for USA and various worldwide countries. "For sale is a 1984 Oberheim DMX with memory expansion running 3.2. I got this from the original owner where it had been collecting dust for almost 30 years. I addressed the cosmetic issues including refinishing the walnut sides with a Tung oil and varnish mixture and cleaned every nook and cranny of dust. I recapped all of the main electrolytic capacitors on the the main board and control board. Removed any components exhibiting corrosion from battery leakage including several IC sockets and chips. Any faulty chips were replaced by examples identical to the original equipment down to the manufacturer and year (not that it makes any difference). The screen was replaced preemptively to ensure years of use. After completing all the service steps in my abilities, I sent it to Electrongate/Paul White for the final debugging. He supplied some new buttons, battery, lid thumbscrews and sorted the last of the gremlins. It's now about as good as they come. The perfect platform for someone looking to add MIDI."

"This scarce and unique piece of German ingenuity and (over?) engineering has been tested to the best of our ability. Due to its unique architecture (i.e. - confusing layout, features, and programming), we can only vouch 100% for complete function of the screen, back lights, buttons, faders, and sounds/voices, etc.
We've included a video link of the actual unit for sale below.
It has a fat, punchy sound with a ton of retro character and a few unique and quirky voices. Once in a while we think there's a faint intermittent 'phantom' background noise?
The "SPEED" fader works but is missing the knob. Also, a handful of scratches, nicks, and abrasions are present on all surfaces - nothing serious. The power cable is safe and stable but has areas of electrical tape along its length - we're not sure why. Probably not splits or exposed wire but we did not remove the tape to find out.
Hard to find programming overlay included."
