Me rehearsing with two Casiotones

YouTube via DX5
"Me tweaking and exploring the posibilites of two Casio VL-1 VL TONE for covering Depeche Mode "Everything Counts" with those small instruments.
Some problems due to the keyboard size. It sounds nice when you feel the VL TONE sounding "Duophonic".

A full cover with the casios coming soon"

Me playing DM "Behind the Wheel" 101

YouTube via DX5

"Upper keyboard: Emu EMAX II HD
Lower: Emu Emax.

Only the crowd background was sampled from the original 101 album(a two seconds only loop).

(I sampled into the EMAXII a Roland JX-8P and a Kurzweil Pc1x for the main lead, a JP8000 for the "submarine" resonant noise, JX-8P for the mid sequence, left hand choir is a library sample)

Bactrack recorded in Pro Tools and Reason rewired. Yamaha DX7, Roland D10 and Emax I also used for the backtrack."

Me playing Depeche Mode "Stripped" (Updated)

YouTube via DX5
"New "Stripped" cover, based on the live version DM played back on the 80's. The engine sample is the original Emulator I library sound DM used for the song (altough they removed some noise between strokes which is present in my cover). I got it directly sampled from an Emulator.

Gear:
Emu Emax 1, EMAX II HD (sampled sounds from a Roland JP8000 and my libraries).
Kurzweil PC1x
Backtrack recorded and sequenced in Pro Tools with Reason Re Wired.

The sound is slighty compressed by the camera preamp, so some audio attenuation can be heard in some sections.

*There was a nice fly messing around, some wrong notes as results and even an attempt to catch it (Failed!)"

YouTube via DX5. Emax II comes in at 4:10.

Backtrack Sequencing and recording, and video shot were made in two hours (I note this always there is lacking of production, I did it in a quick way)

Roland JP8000: Arpeggio bass (time synched via midi from Pro Tools).

Me checking a Simmons sds 8 drum module

YouTube via DX5
"Just showing what can it do.
All the channels has the same VCO, so they are basically the same. In preset mode each channel have different settings for each drum sound. You can put it in manual mode, then you can edit all the parameters. It is what I did."

Me playing New Order "Blue Monday" (updated)

YouTube via DX5.

The Oberheim DX was the original drum machine used for the track.

"Extemporizing with "Blue Monday". Now I added a Simmons SDS 8 Drum module (Just two pads) for messing with as Peter Hook did live.

Equipment:
Roland JP8000
Emu Emax
Roland D10

Simmons SDS 8

Backtrack recorded with Pro Tools and Reason rewired."

DX5 playing Pet Shop Boys "Domino Dancing"

YouTube via DX5.

"First PSB track that I cover. Everything (searching sounds, assigning to the Emax, recording the backtrack, etc) was done in half an afternoon. As I started to record late at night, I didn't rehearsal more than twice, so there are some mistakes on the lead part (JX-8P).

No sample sound from the original song. All Emax samples are from my libraries (even the orchestal Hit, I realized I have got exactly the same they used for the track).

Gear:
Roland JX-8P
Emu Emax
Kurzweil PC1x."
