joerg schaaf resumption 2021

video upload by Jörg Schaaf

Jörg Schaaf is the man behind Radikal Technologies and previously Quasimidi.

"This is the final track of my work for the 11th MICA Vigil 2 days music festival in Baltimore. For the first time I used stock footage for a music video. Let me know what you think about using them. I especially like the work from Mikhael Nilov, who made the spaceship footage! The inspiration I received from watching the scenes also brought my music to a new level.

The music is available as a BandCamp album:"

MATRIXSYNTH NAMM 2014: Radikal Technologies Booth Pics

NAMM 2014: Radikal Technologies Booth

RADIKAL TECHNO pic on purpose. :) Jörg Schaaf got a kick out that.

Update: see this post for a video from Keyboard Magazine covering the updates to the Radikal Technologies Accelerator including, "unisono mode" to fatten up sounds, MIDI out support for the sequencer & arp for external synths, and the ability to save complete FX chains. via Jörg Schaaf on Facebook:

"In version 1.70 it's now possible to save complete FX chains independent from the sound programs. That is especially great when using the Accelerator for external sound processing like in my guitar example from 2013."

"Listen to some of the Accelerator preset sounds and check the cool FX algorithms which are perfect for external instruments like guitar or bass."

Psychedelic Beatfood

Published on Dec 7, 2018 Jörg Schaaf

Jörg Schaaf of Radikal Technologies.

"I thought, it's time again introducing some beats into my music. For this little piece I first programmed a bunch of drum sounds with the Delta CEP A and created this drum loop. I fed the drumloop into my desktop mixer and faded in and out some FXs while capturing the resulting two track backing in Logic PRO. Then I created two overdubs with the Accelerator.

Jörg Schaaf - Spectralis 2 Live Performance

Published on Sep 3, 2013 Jörg Schaaf·25 videos

"All DSP synth parts are exclusively playing material of the Spectralis Sample Library II. Anyway - it starts with some hybrid synth tweaking - mostly Filter FM with multiple oscillators. You can skip that by forwarding to 2:18 ;-)
I shot some videos during a spring vacation in the Emscher and Ruhr section of NRW in germany. Enjoy the Tetraeder, the Gasometer in Oberhausen with the Big Air Package by Cristo and the Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord - very enjoyable places.
Music and Video by Jörg Schaaf. The Spectralis has been recorded directly from the sum outs without any outboard processing. What you hear is what you get;-)"

Jörg Schaaf's Blofeld Xperience Vol 1

Available here. Note this is Jörg Schaaf of Radikal Technologies and formerly Quasimidi. You can here a demo of the soundset in this previous post.

"This is the essence of Mr. Schaaf's experience with Blofeld. Mr. Schaaf is Musician, Sounddesigner and Composer for almost 30 years. Besides creating soundscapes, he develops electronic music instruments for his own company, Radikal Technologies.

This set contains a very broad spectrum of sounds, as it combines the sampling capability in Blofeld with typical subtractive synthesis.

Requires License SL or Blofeld Keyboard!"

SPECTRALIS 2 Teaser 1

YouTube via SCHAAFJOERG

Note the man behind Radikal Technologies, Jörg Schaaf, was the man behind Quasimidi. Quasimidi made the Polymorph another great rhythm based synthesizer. Jörg Schaaf makes some wonderful instruments. The following is an image of Jörg with the Spectralis prototype from this Sonic State post. Do see the post. It's a fascinating look back in time when the Spectralis was first announced.

Dog in the woods

Published on Feb 6, 2017 Jörg Schaaf

"I shot this video with the little campark 4K UHD extreme camera (ACT73R) with 60 frames/second 1080p. The footage has been edited in Final cut Pro. In most cases I added some coloring with the sepia filter plugin. Sounds are mainly from the Radikal Technologies Accelerator, RT-311 swarm oscillator, RT-451 multimode filter and the strymon timeline. The track has been published last year in summer for the first time and had a different name in the beginning. It was called "homage to the strymon timeline delay". In this video I did some doggy overdubs and added some complex pad work at the very end. BTW.: For the close to ground and tree detail footage I used a simple selfie stick ;-)"

Radikal Technologies Jörg Schaaf All In Sync Jam

Published on Nov 3, 2017 Jörg Schaaf

"Today I made a little synchronisation test for my Jam Setup. The masterclock is produced by Logic. The Spectralis, the Keystep and the Beatstep are running in Sync. The Keystep does not only receive the MIDI clock. It also produces the sync clock for the Doepfer system and there especially the A-155 step sequencer. I hope, you enjoy the little Jam. The distorted filter sound is produced by the RT-451 multimode together with the drive function of the EFFEXX multi FX module.

I hope you enjoy the JAM ;-)"

UFOs over Montreal?

Published on Sep 1, 2019 Jörg Schaaf

"One night I climbed the Mont Royal to look at the city from above. When I wanted to record a small video of the skyline, something strange happened. A glowing object moved from right to left over the city. Of course, I thought of a shooting star. On closer inspection, the whole thing looked very strange.

I believe, I meanwhile have an explanation for the strange light. But I would still like to hear what you think about it. ;-)

Radikal Technologies EFFEXX String Filter Algorithm Demo by Creator Jörg Schaaf

StringFilterDemoWorkshop Published on Nov 7, 2017 Jörg Schaaf

"In this eurorack modular workshop video I explain the usage of the EFFEXX string filter algorithm. If you already have an EFFEXX module you probably have the three additional modules I used for this workshop. For my sound examples I added one Noise generator, one ADSR envelope generator and one VCA. The workshop explains the cabling and gives a lot of tipps how to tweak the parameters for different sonic results.

If you just would like listening to the string filter sounds you can skip the first 4 minutes."

Radikal Technologies' Jörg Schaaf Repairs a Roland D-550 Display

Jörgi's Reparaturen: Roland D-550 Display Reparatur

Published on Nov 13, 2017 Jörg Schaaf
