Soundium: Enabled - Synth Event This Weekend in Vilnius, Lithuania

This one is in via Pierre-Henri Pache.

https://soundium.lt/enabled

"About and around music technology

Soundium: Enabled fuse theory, practice and experiences in the field of music technology. Main goal of the event is to demonstrate and educate. For the first time in the Baltics a space under one roof will be dedicated to DJ/studio gear testings, lectures with brand ambassadors and performances of local geeks.

However, we think the most important part of Soundium: Enabled is its participant (YOU), coming with his/her own approach to the creative process – so the door is open to anyone, and networking is strongly encouraged. See you on October 20th.
Program

Demo space a designated getting-your-hands-on-gear area. You can expect various equipment here, part of which will be hot & new: starting from DJ turntables, ending with modular synths, drum machines and DAW controllers. Some brand representatives will also be around, so do not hesitate to get tips straight from these professionals.

Lyra8-1 // Soma Lyra-8 Organismic Synthesizer

Published on Jun 11, 2018 Lost For Words

"Warning: harsh tones and heavy distortion ... and hopefully you like that kind of thing!

I've had the Lyra 8 for 4 days now and have spent a few moments with it. It's a crazy, crazy synth unit but there are moments of design genius and beauty that dispel any doubts I've had about buying it!

Here I'm playing it without touching the sensors and I've created a kind of 3 track piece. Bringing up the Hold and Sharp knobs to fade in the parts. No external CV input.

Voices 7&8 come in first and they have LFO modulation engaged. The complex LFOs are set to OR have sync off - creating a pitchy pattern fed to those two voices

Voices 3&4 are FM cross-modulated by 1&2 and so you see me playing the Mod knob above 1&2 in order to change the pitch back and forth.

Voices 5&6 are set to a higher pitch drone to bring in some suspense towards the end, along with heavier distortion. I've added a little reverb to smudge the hard edges.

Subtle feedback modulation and some slower LFO settings create some wonderful sounds from the Lyra. Whenever I turn this thing on I get lost in it for hours... 6 or 7 hours!"

Meet The Makers: Vlad Kreimer of Soma Labs

Published on Jun 2, 2018 sonicstate

"Vlad Kreimer is a visionary chap, his early experiments in electronics sent him in some unusual directions, created in isolation in his native Ukraine (where he also invented his take on the sampler). These ultimately leading him to the excellent Lyra 4 and more recently the Lyra 8 which we reviewed and thoroughly enjoyed - its the physical manifestation of Vlad's desire to create instruments which break out of the standardized interfaces of modern instruments and encourage the user to explore creativity in a different way. These were built to provide Vlad with the instruments he wanted to use - his performances are the very definition of alternative."

Lyra-8 Organismic Synthesizer With Volca Kick

Published on Apr 4, 2018 Perfect Circuit Audio

"The Lyra-8 is an eight voice synthesizer with touch control pads for each voice and complex FM routing options. It has a great sounding dual delay and distortion built in, which the synth runs through as well as being able to input external gear, like the Volca Kick in this video.

SOMA Laboratory LYRA-4 Sounds

Published on Sep 22, 2017 Perfect Circuit Audio

"The SOMA LYRA-4 is a four voice synthesizer with touch plate triggers for controlling the volume of each voice. It has multiple routing modes so that it can be used as an organ, drone synth, frequency modulation synth or crazy frequency modulation feedback machine. There is also a complex LFO, and the sound is routed through a delay and distortion. The delay can also be used as a fifth voice and can even modulate itself."

LYRA 4 final production version demo (ENG Sub)

Published on Sep 18, 2016 Vlad Kreimer

"An analog organismic synthesither for soundscapes, FXs, pads and complex textures. The term "Organismic” means that all its modules are intertwined by many nonlinear connections and work in an entangled state, modifying each other, much like organs and systems in live beings. That allows for getting complex, diverse, fluid textures from a relatively simple construction."
