DIY Build #4: Neutral Labs Elmyra

video upload by Piotr Garbaczonek

"Built this organismic noise synth, based on the Lyra 8 by Soma Labs, in around 6 hours or so. Had some trouble during the middle, and kept forgetting to move the build to be in the frame, because I was so invested in not making a mistake on the build. It is not meant to be a guide on how to do it, because I'm not at that level yet, but I guess something for me to look at years from now, and see my growth. The background 'music' was made only on this synth, so it does end up working, and it sounds pretty damn good. I will use it in my ambient videos and some sound design projects.
Cheers!

SOMA Pulsar-23 // Exploring the Filters

video upload by Dexba

"Welcome to another little tutorial.
Pulsar is MASSIVE, and it took to its creator around 5 hours of video to explain some basic functions, so I will never get even close to that level of comprehension of the instrument.
What I can do is offer you some little insights on how I use the Pulsar, and lately, I've been mostly using it way less as a drum machine and way more as a tonal instrument, like a more capable, 4-voices Lyra.
In this video, we're gonna explore a little bit what we can do with filters, while I collect some more ideas for other little tutorials on specific topics.
I hope you'll find it at least a bit useful and inspiring.
Enjoy ✨"

For Science | #Maths x 4 = ?

Cinematic Laboratory

"When I got another Maths to complete the modules of the Tape & Microsound - in separates - I felt the eurorack addiction like never before. Who the fork needs four maths. However, four Maths adds up to eight triangle waveform cycles which reminds me of the Lyra-8 and in theory it's possible to patch them up so they can feedback on themselves. I did not go that far, even though I prepared a case with a Lion matrix in it. Having some help from two ModDemix modules was enough to bring them together. As for the addiction, I feel a bit better now. Been there, done that. Now it's time to let go."

NOISEBUG | Store & Synth Studio Tour - Pomona, CA

Published on Apr 16, 2019 synth4ever

https://www.noisebug.net/

"An in-depth store & synth studio tour of Noisebug in Pomona, California -- including the Noisebug synthesizer showroom, modular synths, and synthesizer music event / performance space.

Join me on this journey into Noisebug's storefront location with Blake Griffith, General Manager & musician. Noisebug is owned by Chuck Oken, Jr. and the current space was the original Analogue Haven location, which was started in 2005.

Blake was kind enough to provide me with a Noisebug synthesizer studio and store tour, and gives great commentary and insight into the history of the store, various analog, digital and modular synthesizers, and the synth industry as a whole.

Noisebug stocks keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines, electronic percussion and desktop modules from all over the world. They specialize in Multi-Format Modular Synthesizers, including Moog Format (MU), Buchla Format, Eurorack, Serge, 5U and beyond.
