"Just arrived, unboxed and it's amazing! Manther is a great little desktop synth box with a powerful sequencer, great analogue synth voice and a great unit for expanding modular systems with another voice and sequencer. The unit itself is ripe for some expansion too. So here's my first impressions with the Malekko Heavy Industry Manther. It's smaller than I thought it would be but the sound is everything and more (with the wave folding triangle and delay) than I thought it would be. Here's a quick play around, exploration and the factory patches and sequences after only playing around for about an hour."

"The Malekko Manther is a standalone analog synthesizer with the ability to make sounds similar to single oscillator bass synths from the past as well as adding new features like a tunable sub-oscillator and wave-folder. The Manther also has a powerful sequencer with motion recording and a built in delay effect that goes from short chorus/flanger lengths all the way up to regular delay times. The Manther also has patch points for CV input and output compatible with eurorack synthesizers.

"Malekko Heavy Industry was one of many modular synth companies with new gear at NAMM 2017, but it wasn't its modules that caught our eye - it was two desktop synths and a drum machine tucked away behind the booth.

Malekko's new standalone range consists of an analog mono synth called the Manther inspired by Roland's MC-202, the Mr. D drum machine and BFF, a synth collaboration with Industrial Music Electronics.

All three devices works by themselves, but each comes with the necessary outputs to patch into an existing Eurorack modular system. They were only on show in non-working prototype form at NAMM 2017, but FACT spoke to Malekko's Ben Davis to find out more."

Mr.D all analog drum machine with individual outs, trigger ins, hard clip, soft clip, analog bit crusher, compressor and drive on the master out. Integrated Varigate. Not your Kaja Googo drums.
