Revisiting the Cloudbusting Organic from Error Instruments

video upload by Musical Miscellany (Poorness Studios)

"After my recent Error Instrument unboxing videos, I decided to revisit the Cloudbusting Organic. I unboxed this cool little synth late last year and I've used it a few times but haven't really sat down to get to know it. It's actually a very cool device with some really interesting sounds inside. I managed to put this piece together using just the Cloudbusting Organic and a synth pad from Alchemy."

Battery-Operated Bedroom Jam (Eurorack, Volca Beats, Ukulele, & Alchemy)

video upload by Musical Miscellany (Poorness Studios)

"My friend @MariaCalfaDePaul often posts battery-operated jams. She'll use several battery operated synths and record to her iPad. I decided to try her method. The funny thing is... this video was just a learning experience. I wasn't intending to make a video. Regardless, I felt the need to share."

Instant Remix (jam with KORG KO-1 & Mini-KP)

video upload by Musical Miscellany (Poorness Studios)

"While I was sick, I decided to revisit the KORG KO-1 and Mini-KP used together. The pairing really works. I realized if you elect present 78 (on the Mini-KP) and add bass & drums (on the KO-1)... the result is an instant remix.

Counting Sheep (a sleepy Eurorack composition)

video upload by Musical Miscellany (Poorness Studios)

"Since I'm sick with COVID again, I decided to build a patch on the Eurorack modular synth. This one reminded me of sheep jumping over a fence so I added the counting audio track and suddenly... it became this. It was a fun little experiment and it helped pass the time (and it made me sleepy)."

Calculus Chronicle #1 | self-playing modular synth patch | unquantized generative soundscape

video upload by Musical Miscellany (Poorness Studios)

"I created this patch before going to bed. I wasn't crazy about it at the time. When I woke up the next morning, I made a small tweak and all of a sudden... the patch came to life. Literally. It sounds almost like a living thing. The musical notes are unquantized and the rhythm is a result of evolving voltages. However, all the oscillators are tuned to a reference pitch so it sounds dissonant yet harmonious."

Jamming with the Landscape HC-TT

video upload by Musical Miscellany (Poorness Studios)

"I posted a few videos about the HC-TT from Landscape and now I decided to do a jam with it. Instead of using glitchy synths and the like, I decided to try it with "traditional" instruments. I'm pretty happy with the way this came out."

Bioelectric Skiff Project | First Hike with the Battery-operated Eurorack

video upload by Musical Miscellany (Poorness Studios)

"I posted a few videos about putting this battery-operated modular synth together [see here] and now I'm taking it into a TX State Park for a jam. The plant is the foreground is supplying the melody and the Sound Scaper (from Error Instruments) handles the metallic drone. Both are running off a USB power bank."

RIP Barry Schmetter aka Resonant_Space

The following is in via Supporting member, Poorness Studios.

"I have some more bad news. My friend Barry Schmetter passed away earlier in the week. He died of a heart attack in his home. It's hitting me really hard so I just can't find the energy to sing a Sunday Song this week, but I will play a snippet from one of Barry's art installations."

This is How To Do MIDI Sync in the Studio (E-RM Midiclock)

video upload by Musical Miscellany (Poorness Studios)

"When I posted the recent studio tour video, I received a lot of questions about my MIDI setup. I thought I'd just do a video to explain it. The MIDI master clock I use is called the Midiclock. I use it to send MIDI to the synths and then use an Erica module to convert MIDI to Euro clock.

It's available here: https://www.e-rm.de/midiclock/"

1 x 1k Ω Resistor
1 x Piece of Wire (about 12")
1 x Piece of 1/4" Heat Shrink Tubing (about 12")
