PP1 Pitch to CV/Gate (or MIDI) Converter

"The Behringer Perfect Pitch PP1 is a pitch (audio mono signal) to CV/Gate ( or MIDI ) Converter. You input guitar, voice, flute, violin, trumpet, synth, any monophonic instrument and play a single note (pitch). It will convert that pitch to a MIDI note or Control Voltage plus Gate for an analog (CV) or digital (MIDI) synth. It allows you to play your synth by singing, or playing guitar, etc.
This video has numerous examples of doing just that. It will explain all the controls on the front panel, as well as giving you tricks and tips on how to get the smoothest control out of it.

Amsynths AM8171 Quad Sequential Switch

"When Roland developed the System 100M they created a quad signal gate module, the 171, which also had a ton of multiples. The AM8173 module contains the same four signal gates built with modern components, and an onboard LFO clock, making it a very useful sequential switch, for both audio and CV signals.
