New Elektron OS Features With Analog Four + Analog Rytm MKII Black

"The Elektron Analog Four and Analog Rytm both got an OS upgrade that adds USB midi and USB audio features. Mario from Elektron US came by to show us how these new features make integrating the Analog Four and Rytm with iOS devices much easier.

Having USB audio and midi means you can easily record the output of your analogs with your phone, or sequence them with an iPad, or maybe sequence an iOS synth with your Elektron by just plugging it into the USB port.

We used the new Analog Four MKII and Analog Rytm MKII with the black finish, but this OS works with the gray MKII versions as well as the original MKI versions.

"Hey guys, I'm back with the next RYTM MK2 video. I have a few more vids coming up on the RYTM, then I'll be doing some vids on the new Roland TR-8S!!!

I made a breakbeat on the RYTM using the 8 voices (NEXT VIDEO), then I decided to sample each of the sounds I made and make a techno track which what this video is.

Since I was drinking coffee out of my Plumbus mug, that my good friend Gregor bought me as a gift, I decided I'd throw in a plumbus sample and dedicate the video to this magical thing. ;)"

The kit was made to show the analog sounds that are achievable from this lovely Drum Machine.
This is just me messing with it along with Audiorealism's ABL 2 with a bit of external reverb and a Memory man with Hazarai on the 303.
I take no credit for the sounds coming out of the Rytm, this is Adam's kit. I made the 4 bar pattern and the 303 pattern

"Hi all, Just got the Analog Rytm to complete the Elektron 'Dark Trinity' here and after uploading a couple of samples and updating it to the latest firmware I started messing around with it.

The combination of analog synthesis and samples + analog filters sounds real nice in this machine I think :)

Anyway here are my first 3 patterns I've made on it just fooling around with some of the possibilities.
I hope to find some time to use the 3 Elektrons together soon and the Rytm will obviously do some nice 'Beats' there.

So I decided to make an tuned analog pack for the Analog Rytm. Here's a demonstration of 64 sounds, 11 kits, 11 patterns that come with the pack. As an Analog Rytm user, it might be fun to poke around in my patterns, and see how I'm doing it. (Most of the time, it's pretty straight forward :)

"A live, semi-improvised performance, all on hardware, and inspired by Elektron's classic Monomachine and all its surprising features. If you didn't already know, the Monomachine is a discontinued, older machine, and (to the best of my knowledge) nothing in Elektron's line-up can quite replace what it did. Once I was using the Rytm and the Monomachine, it seemed silly not add in the rest of the Elektron team. The Zoia was brought on at the last minute to give that "old VHS" sound to the Digitone.

Elektron Monomachine SFX60-UW MkII — Master-level effects on the Rytm, plus two synth lines (high lead, chorus saw), plus drums
Elektron Analog Four MkII — Four synths, primarily in "chorus" section (bass, tremolo flute, fast arp, synth string)
Elektron Digitone + Empress Zoia — slower arp

Written and performed within a 24-hour period, and uploaded as is, with only a little compression/limiting on the master.

The first Dataline Sound Pack (DSP) features 100 samples from the classic Syncussion SY1 drum synthesiser. These samples were recorded using both of the SY1 oscillators as layers. Analog Rytm sending 2 individual trigs, at the same time, to the 2 Syncussion channels. Both of these channels would be mixed and sampled in the Rytm. To celebrate these samples, I have made exclusive patterns to some good old machines - which are featured in the video as audio examples and bundled with the DSP:SYNCUSSION SY1!
