"The Pro 3 is the brand new synth from Sequential. It's a 3 oscillator mono/paraphonic with a wavetable oscillator, multi-mode filter, awesome motion sequencer, great effects, and some other cool bells and whistles.

I put my hands on one for the first time at NAMM 2020. This is that footage.

I didn't expect to love this thing as much as I did. It's got an incredibly unique sound, huge and techy, grungy and distorted, sharp and round."

First ambient improvisation with the Sequential Pro 3

"A improvised track with the Sequential Pro 3, using some custom made presets and some of factory ones. Sorry about the distorting/clipping bass mid-way through. My first impression playing with the Pro 3 it just how analog and warm and characterful it is, even compared to other modern analog synths, so I figured doing something Jarre-esque would be fun to try. Everything playing is from the Pro 3, with the backing track improvised into the Ditto X4 looper before recording.

All FX (phaser, chorus, delays etc) are from the Pro 3, except some Valhalla Shimmer added to the lead parts.

Recorded direct to DAW."

The Sequential PRO 3 in action playing Funky Fantastic Leads!
This synth is an excellent LEAD synth. It should be on top of every
synth rig. My only gripe about it's design is the MIDI In & Out is
located in the center on the back of the synth. I use a Ultimate
Support Apex stand. Not able to use MIDI on my stand unless it's
on the very top of the rig. That is about the only issue I have with
the PRO 3. Very minor issue cuz I don't have to use that stand :)
An excellent purchase for any musician or studio, just remember
where the MIDI ports are located :)

The Pro 3 is not beholden to any musical style—capable of everything from smooth leads to complete tracks of jarring, edgy rhythmic sequences, it is every bit monosynth as it is drum machine or destructive sound device. It offers two analog oscillators and one wavetable oscillator, which can each operate with relative independence: the option for three-note paraphony means that polyphonic textures and sequences can easily be coaxed out of this instrument.

The extensive modulation options, though, are what really brings it to life. It offers looping envelopes, LFOs, a 16-track modulation sequencer, a huge modulation matrix, and even assignable CV inputs and outputs. Paired with the velocity and aftertouch-capable keyboard and arpeggiator, this means that the Pro 3 can be played in a huge number of ways. "I could listen to the Moog Matriarch doing its self generative ambient dreamscape music for hours. This time around, I patched in the Sequential Pro 3 for added textural ambient synth goodness. The small eurorack modular rig was all patched up but between the Matriarch, Pro 3 and Microvolt 3900, the soundscape was full enough.

"It's the super synth showdown nobody asked for! Today we are comparing the sounds of the beautiful and polyphonic Sequential Prophet-6 to the deadly Pro 3 mono-synth . For the purposes of this comparison I am going to keep the P6 on mono-mode for the entirety of the video.

Things get preeeettttyyy scientific, so dont worry if you can't keep up with all the math and equations I'm using to accurately compare these two beauties.

So what do you prefer? Prophet-6 or Pro 3?

Personally I'll never sell my Prophet-6, but I am having sooo much fun with the 3.
