Buchla testing
Published on Aug 6, 2013 peff .com·86 videos
"after a year of working on the Buchla System 200 power supply I kinda gave up on the original power supply and have resorted to using a new 200e power source. however it doesn't produce the +24vdc for the 265 module. This is just a little test to see how things function, before i dive into work on the easel a bit more.
The Euro Rack system is used to synthesize the perc and drums and also sends clock and random voltages to the Buchla envelope follower. Easel generates the sequence bit, and the 259 creates the the digeridoo-ish drone."

Kong 808 Refill for Reason 5 / Record 1.5 Preview
YouTube via PeffTV | August 31, 2010
"First and foremost, this is an attempt to create a usable Roland TR-808 sample set for the Kong Drum Designer in Propellerhead Software Reason 5 / Record 1.5. From there, it's become a sound design experiment to see how the original sounds can be manipulated using the various effects in the Kong Drum Designer device. This is a preview of some of the patch sets for the refill.
The sampling of the TR-808 is fairly extensive with over 500 individual samples. 250 variations of the dry tones and their corresponding accent tones. Multiple samples of Hand Clap and Hi Hats reveal the analog nature of the 808 as no two samples of the same tone are identical.
Some tones are processed through some hardware and DSP to create special effect palettes, but the source of all the sounds is based on the 808 hardware.
More information will be posted shortly on my website: http://www.peff.com/journal/

Reason 4.0 CV/Gate Controlling an Oberheim S.E.M.
YouTube via PeffTV. volta
"http://www.peff.com/journal/2009/06/1... Reason CV signals converted to audio signals via the THOR Polysonic Synthesizer, will send a DC voltage through the Mark of the Unicorn 896 HD audio interface. In this manner Reason 4.0 can be used to control a variety of analog synthesizers that comply to the traditional CV/Gate voltage protocols. I tested this configuration with the ARP2600, which also works very well."
