via the seller: "Yes I am a real person who owns this Jupiter 8 and definitely not a scammer. I have owned it for about 4 years, had it fully serviced in July of 2012 by Mike Metz at Thesis Audio in Wichita, Kansas. The main thing I had done was the power supply rebuilt, and a full cleaning of the chips and plug wires, pots, etc. I also had the lithium battery replaced. The Jupiter was then calibrated. It was working fine when I took it in, these are just things I wanted to go ahead and have done while I had the chance. It sounds incredible and appears to possibly be the 5th Roland Jupiter down the assembly line according to my research. Serial number #030104. Everything is working and I have at least 50 videos on youtube of me playing it over the last 4 years. It has encore midi as well. The Jupiter is in beautiful condition but is not mint, with a superficial scratch here or there. I treat it as a work of art."

1. Jupiter Clone Demo
"Small audio demo from my jupiter clone project.

Latest additions are JP8's cross modulation section and locig for the preset buttons and display driver. There is no patch memory yet but logic for controlling patches and showing patch numbers on LCD's work.

Arpeggiator melodies are from Roland SH01 Gaias arpeggiator where I made arpeggiator patterns similar to JP8's arpeggiator."

2. Jupiter Clone Demo - Work Still In Progress.
"Small demo to show basic parts that are ready and how those work together.

Volume gets pretty high at the middle part of this demo while playing with PWM modulation stuff.

3.DIY Jupiter Clone - Broken Date
"Jupiter Clones casing is now done and first boards are fitted in.
In this video three voices from total of four are in use. I still need to build last two oscillator cards to get 4 voice polyphony. Filter and VCA for the last two cards is ready but needs tuning.

DR-202 is sequencing midi notes to Midi to CV converter which controls voices polyphonicly. Additional 808 beats and bassline are audioloops that I added in video editor."

4. Jupiter 8 VCO clone
"Short video from my latest DIY build.
This video shows two DIY JP VCO voice cards build on veroboard. Each containing one VCO with saw, square and pulse witdh modulation. Together these two vco cards make one voice. SH101 sends CV to voice cards and GATE trigger to DIY VCADSR circuit.

These is a small error on the info text in the video. Originals NF510 fet is replaced with 2N3819, not with 2N3918 as mentioned in the video."

"In this video I am playing Abacab by Genesis. I programmed the Jupiter 8 to play the synthesizer 5ths by simply tuning two oscillators a 5th apart. I am using the Jupiter 6 for the organ parts with the right hand, and with the left hand I am playing the synth bass part using split mode. "In this video I have the Linn Drum synced to the JP8. The JP8 is split with the bass arp on the lower end and strings on high end. I am playing a sync lead patch that I created for this song on the Jupiter 6. For anyone who would like to know, Gregg Hawkes, the keyboardist for The Cars, originally used a Prophet 5 for this sync lead sound. After the Jupiter 8 came out in the early 80's, he started using it for this sound, which has a very similar sync lead patch, such as the one I created here. In this video, it was easier for me to play it using the JP6 for my lead sound, because the sync lead on the JP8 is tuned one octave higher. On the JP8, this riff has to be played one octave lower but in this video my bass arp is occupying some of the notes I need in the lower register. There is no way to tune it lower as it is maxed out to the lowest possible octave."

Gaia + Jupiter 8 + JP6 + SR18 "Supersaw Highway"

"Here is my brief take on the Roland Gaia SH-01.

Pros: It has some really good sounds, particularly bass and leads. It has a great arpeggiator.

Cons" Only 37 Keys!!! Why why why???? The layout is horrible. It's a royal pain to navigate in real time! It's a pain to sync to a drum machine.

Overall: Roland is onto something here. If the next Gaia had a cooler name, 61 Keys, and a layout similar to the Jupiter 8 or the Jupiter 6 then this could be a really great synth. I not only love the sound of the early Jupiters, I love the simple layout as well. They are so easy to quickly navigate. Will Roland listen to what I am saying....probably not :("
