Harpsitron programming log - 2
YouTube via zioaxiom | September 02, 2010
"After implemented in the analog world the technique used for the Modular Piano, I did some sampling and more mangling on Reaktor. Samples of string programmed on analog synthesizers has been layered with samples from string programmed under Reaktor for further processing.
This is a little test (still in development) of this sound, so this is very far from perfect."

Harpsitron programming
YouTube via zioaxiom — May 10, 2010 — "Note: this is a work in progress.
The Harpsitron is an acoustic emulation of an harpsichord by subtractive synthesis. This instrument has been synthesized and, then, sampled in order to get better polyphony and other enhancements. This video shows new improvements of the sound.

The Modular Piano - Instruments
YouTube via zioaxiom — April 07, 2010 — "If sampling is like a photography, sound synthesis is like a painting. The Modular Piano is an oil portrait of a never existed piano; an illusion of reality, aware of the illusion.
The Modular Piano has an intimate sound, detached from the brightness of modern pianos, which makes it ideal for certain situations when the precision and detail of a grand piano are not the best deal. Techniques from the past and modern technology were used to reinvent the most complex of the stringed instruments, but with a conceptual difference. Due to its synthetic nature, you will not find a huge and multilayered instrument but a live one, made of thousand flavours, with its very own dynamics.
This library comes with three main instruments, two bonus instruments and two multis. The first one is The Modular Piano. As stated before, this is a very special piano as it was synthesized from scratch, note by note, and then imported into Kontakt to get more polyphony and use all the great features of this sampler. The Timbre Dynamics and String Tuning scripts will provide you with more ways to shape the tone of this instrument. Next youll find Ragama, a variation of our piano. An old, noisy, mechanical clavichord-like instrument, with an Asian taste. Try to play it slowly and as piano as you can. The third is Galvanic Corrosion, an epic distorted bowed-like piano. This is great for movie scoring, heavy layering and droning. As bonus, you will find two more instruments, a couple of great sounding pads, and two multis as example of combination possibilities of our sounds.
The Modular Piano is available as Native Instruments Kontakt 3.5 / 4 library. You can purchase the download for €29 ($39) on www.progsounds.com"

Modular Piano - Acoustic piano simulation by subtractive synthesis
YouTube via zioaxiom
"While programming my first library I ran into the need to have an acoustic piano sound. Since I don't have a real piano to sample, I decided to synthesize it from scratch using "traditional" subtractive synthesis technique. This is my first good result and has been achived only by using basic oscillators, filters and so on. The only downside is the limited polyphony due to heavy CPU usage so I sampled almost every key and mapped them into a sampler in order to make this sound more usable.
