BugBrand AudioWeevil08

"AudioWeevil08
Note this is not in production yet!
Added 20th Aug 08

After many months of refinement, I can finally announce the new AudioWeevil08! This version really raises the bar in terms of response, feel and design.

A wide variety of features are packed into this Weevil - have a check of the block diagram to the left to see how the signal flows. The box is both a synth-sound generator and an audio processor - oh, with a load of chaos possibilities chucked in too." More images and info here. Be sure to see this post as well.

You can find a description for this video in German under the more info link on this YouTube page, or in Googlish here.

via swissdoc:
"Spliff is a German band from the 80s, very nice stuff and they had a fine
keyboarder Reinhold Heil and a cool drummer using Simmons Herwig Mitteregger"

Check out the other tracks from the album 85555 under Related Videos Features JP8 and TR808 and more you will see yourself

Reinhold Heil had a girlfriend Rosemarie Precht, together they recorded under the name Cosa Rosa. In this vid they use Yamaha CS-30 and CS-01. I think the guy playing the CS-01 is Reinhold Heil.

AMPLIFIED & EFFECTED SKATEBOARD LEDGE/ RAILING

YouTube via insomekneeact. Sent my way via devi.
"The skateboarder has become one of the significant examples of dynamic movement and interpretation of the urban landscape. The skateboard has also become synonymous with public destruction and noise - always a calling card for social / public complaint and public control. Mixing the elements of the skateboard and its interpretation of something abstract like a handrail can also be highlighted via the media arts to recognize the audio elements within the relationship between the skateboard, the railing, and the physicality of the skateboarder.

This performance was planned for the Project Sound Wave Series (3) Sound Festival June 27th 2008 in San Francisco CA. We were denied entry into the States and Homeland Security fingerprinted and blackmarked Nicolay. The result was this video performance done in Vancouver which was screened at the festival on the 27th in San Francisco."

Anyone know what that little, yellow, plastic looking monster thing is on the top left of the rightmost prototype?

Just a nice shot of an STG (Suit & Tie Guy) modular system currently on the stg/soundlabs homepage.

Anyone know more about this shot? Who that is, who's modular, when and where it was used, etc? Also is it all Moog or do you spot anything else in there? What are the bottom modules?

Update: It looks like it's Hans Zimmer. via Qwave and Stretta in the comments.

Update via Loren Norell in the comments:
"It is Hans Zimmer, it was taken from an 1980s British magazine (Electronics and Music Maker?). It was in an article on some band that Hans and Warren Cann had formed with some cabaret singer and a concert they gave with too much gear. The modular synth was only a part of what he used in the concert. BTW it is Moog modular with Roland 700 modules and a sequential circuits programmer on the far left. I have that issue of the magazine somewhere, although I'm not sure where it is at the moment."

"This is my Monophonic Synthesizer. It was designed and built in the late 1970s. It is shown here with all the patch cords removed so the panels are more visible. Some of the modules were never completed beyond the panel. Click any image for a bigger version."

Combined LFO Pattern

YouTube via isotopeofme
"LFOs are great. Modulation is the heart of many good sounds, but a single LFO can get boring. Up, Down, Up, Down. So why not mix 2 of them together? Here's an example of a slightly more complex pattern made by summing 2 midi synchronized LFOs at the Linear VCA.

The patch is extremely basic, a simple 2 OSC saw fed to a 24 DB lowpass filter. the output of the combined LFOs is brought into the secondary VC input on the LPF creating a syncopated pattern.
