SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS MODEL 800 sequencer

via this auction
"This sequencer is very rare. Only 500 were made. From the nice website synthmuseum: "The Sequential Model 800 Sequencer is a 256-event cv/gate sequencer based on microprocessor technology. This was probably Sequential's first product. Dave Smith started making these units in his garage. Early serial numbers even feature a strange sci-fi looking Sequential logo. It was built like a tank, encased in a 8"X10"X5" metal box. It represents one of the first attempts at a commercial meld between analog and digital technology..." see synthmuseum for more. "I purchased this from a classified ad back in 1996 for $75. Great sounding synth but almost impossible to keep 100% functional. Part of its "charm" I guess. Part of my personal collection."

Memorymoog Demo

YouTube via thegarranimal

"This is a Moog Memorymoog. I paid $900 USD in 2002 for this beast. A couple of years ago I had some work done which brought the modulation section back into working order and added the Kenton Midi retrofit. 5 voices tune properly, one of the voice cards I suspect has a fracture. Every time after performing an autotune I have to defeat (keep it from sounding) the out of tune voice card.

The audio for this video was recorded into Cubase SX3 through an E-mu 1616M audio interface. Absolutely no effects were added. Most patches programmed by me! This demo is guerrilla style with mostly noodling - no rehearsing whatsoever...can you tell?? So please take it easy with the comments. Maybe I make a better vid later. And sorry for the squarepusher riff :)"

Using Midify to sync GlitchDS with sequencer

YouTube via Modd3d
"I'm using GlitchDS's "strum mode" to sync it with a MIDI sequencer. Basically I'm sending MIDI notes to the Midify board which converts them and presses the "left" button on the DS at the beginning of the loop and the "right" button every 1/8th note.

Since I get to control exactly when GlitchDS advances to the next step I could get really fancy with the timing if I wanted.

ARP Odyssey, PPG Wave 2.?, LinnDrum, Minimoog. Note the user created wavetable of Midge Ure's voice on the PPG. Also see this post for a special note on the mini. The August link takes you to a post back in August of 2006 when I originally posted the Minimoog portion of this video.
"Smaller file than 1st upload for low bandwisth users. This has been edited from the Schools programme "Science Topics" broadcast in 1983. This episode was title "Electronics In Action" and contains footage of the band performing on the Oxford Road Show in 1982, tinkering with Lament in the studio and Midge demo-ing antique synth!"
