Synthesizers.com Q172 Quantizer Aid

full details on Synthesizers.com

"The Q172 Quantizer Aid operates in conjunction with the Q171 Quantizer Bank providing a fourth quantizer channel along with many unique features.

Note: The Q172 requires the Q171 to operate.

Features include rotary switch selection of the note group and the addition of new groups including quarter-tone, and 3 user-programmable groups.

A MIDI output jack produces digital notes matching the quantized output. This effectively turns our analog sequencers (Q119 and Q960) into MIDI sequencers and offers many interesting connectivity possibilities with digital equipment.

A Bypass switch provides real-time selection of a quantized or unquantized output.

A 3-position Transpose switch lets the operator add or subtract an octave to the quantized output in real-time. The transpose input jack provides voltage controlled transposition to the Pitch voltage output.

The MIDI input jack provides a simple method of programming the 3 user-programmable note groups. Simply plug in a keyboard controller and press the keys you'd like in your custom group. Groups are saved through power cycles.

The Gate input can be used to control the timing of quantization and allows operation as a digital Sample and Hold. The Gate output provides a pulse at each quantization output change to trigger external events such as envelope generators and sequencers."

Synthsizers.com Q171 Quantizer Bank

Full details on synthesizers.com

"The Q171 Quantizer accepts an input voltage and produces an output voltage that is locked into a selected group of notes (semitones, scale, chord, etc.) maintaining correct intervals between steps.

The quantizer's primary use is to simplify tuning of an analog sequencer, but there are many other musical applications. Any voltage source can be processed by the quantizer including envelope generators, oscillators, noise sources, etc.

The Q171 can be synchronized with external events and operated as a programmable Sample & Hold using the Gate Inputs. A Gate Output signal occurs whenever a new quantized output signal level is produced.

Three independent channels are provided. Channels produce one of the valid semitone notes (12-notes per-octave) unless an alternate group of notes is selected using the option switches. These option switches narrow the possible outputs to further simplify tuning. Possible note groups include Semitones; Major, Minor, Augmented, Diminished versions of scales; Triad chords; and Root+5th."

Shoot, already picked this one up here. It didn't come up in my search for some reason. Oh well, here it is again. :)

Macbeth Dual Oscillator

via this auction

"Macbeth Dual Oscillator for Eurorack Modular synthesizers. For those of you who don't know you need a standard eurorack case to power this unit, doepfer etc. Unit works great it's not very old and in perfect condition. I personally think this is the best sounding euro oscillator module on the market, it has a real classic vintage sound and honestly sounds fatter than a lot of vintage analog oscillators. Completely worth the money, some people gripe about macbeth prices but they are missing out!!! Simply the best and I've owned two macbeth M5s and can tell you the dual oscillator module sounds better, more gooey and warm and breathes with more life than the m5 oscs. I'm thinking this is actually the first used Macbeth Dual Osc to hit ebay??? I'm only selling to fund another big synth purchase and I'm selling off my euro stuff because I don't like patching all that much with little tiny 1/8th cords haha. These are $1299 new and here in CA there is crazy tax so don't miss out on the buy now..."

MOTU Volta on the B-Roll

"Volta is a pretty great invention in the world of modular synths. While it makes the visceral experience of patching something from raw into a slower more logistical experience, it makes the composing of music with the modular a much easier task. Plus there’s nothing better than being able to bring that modular perfectly in sync with Ableton Live and testing out different drum loops over the sound."

You can find the full post on the B-Roll. Some nice pics and audio there as well.
