Folktek Arts The Insect

Folktek on Ebay

"One of the latest "Insectan" works by Arius Blaze. This is an expanded upon version of the previous bugs with folktek magnetic patchbay, patchable knobs and the controllable chaotic sound of alien insects based on high quality speech osc.

The expansion adds a modulate section which toggles back and fourth between two patches adding more rhythmic control and/or also causing the insect to behave oddly and create variations of sounds otherwise unheard from the bugs. The modulate section has speed control and the global patch depth function covers the modulation as well."

" Atoner clock driving noise swash. Atoner cv mix out driving a105 freq to cgs dual drum, and mfb claps cv driven by Atoner cv mix out to an a140. Rotating Clock Divider doing divisions of a tap tempo pulse, triggering before-mentioned modules."

"Taken at the Editors show, while Tom was playing a solo song on the piano. It wasn't too easy to find a position where nobody's head was in the way for this, so it was a bit rushed and got overexposed on some faces where the light reflected at just the right/wrong angle, but overall I like it. I love the look of old analog synths like this.

Unfortunately the lighting didn't really allow me to get any good shots of the bands (The Strange Death of Liberal England also played, as did Fujiya & Miyagi)."

ARP Quartet demo

video upload by daviddonohoe

"Quick demonstration of some of the sounds from the ARP Quartet (same synth as the Siel Orchestra).
A classic string machine with a very lush ensemble effect. Also has a very warm brass section with a beautiful lfo. The piano is also particularly beautiful, sounds nothing like a piano though."

Update via Qwave in the comments:
"Some additional pictures and details here:

Some nice shots of the inside there as well.

Korg M500SP Micropreset OMD synth lines

"Quick demonstration of some of the sounds from the Korg M500SP Micropreset heavily used as main lead synth by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. A strange little monophonic preset synth, with a similar filter to the MS series. Very limited in actual synthesis capabilities, but has a fantastic tone and is great fun to play!

Korg M500SP Micropreset

"Some noodlings on the Korg M500SP Micropreset. A strange little monophonic preset synth, with a similar filter to the MS series. Very limited in actual synthesis capabilities, but has a fantastic tone and is great fun to play. Here I'm having tremendous fun with the filter, lfo and portamento, not to mention the keys and voice selection buttons!"
