New Version of Synthesizers.com SynthInvent Available

"A new version of SynthInvent layout software is available free from Synthesizers.com. SynthInvent allows the user to create a customized modular synthesizer by dragging and dropping cabinets and modules as needed. SynthInvent calculates system pricing and power consumption, and will produce a product listing, spreadsheet or a webpage on command. The latest version of SynthInvent adds new features such as Ctrl-Z undo, control over how cabinets are stacked, custom cabinet configurations and more."

Remember, you don't need to build a full blown modular to get started on a system that works for you. See this post for more info on that.

OTO Biscuit Step Filter

YouTube via bigcitymusic. http://bigcitymusic.com
"We're running the Elektron Machinedrum into the right side and the KCP Utopia synth into the left. This video demonstrates the Biscuit's super-cool step filter function.

The Biscuit is synced via MIDI clock to the Machinedrum and we're inputting various filter cutoff values for different steps. Analog filter sequencing is fun and it's an awesome sounding multimode filter too! You can also change the subdivision of the sequence and if the sequence should run forward, back & forth or randomly.

We'll showcase the 8-bit pitch shifter, wave shaper and delay functions on the next Biscuit video. ;)"

Sequential Circuits Prophet 2002 Sampler w/ orig manual SN 0088

via this auction

"By the way, old versions of Recycle can use MIDI to load samples into this unit. With the nice VCA, VCF, and LFO on board, you got yourself a customizable wavetable synth. Don't forget it can stack all 8 voices at once and detune them, it is nasty great sounding Also you can swap the floppy out with a 1.44MB so it is easier to use, theres tons of docs on the net on how to do it."

Modded 1974 Moog Music Minimoog Model D

via this auction
"An original Moog Music Minimoog Model D Synthesizer from 1974, serial #3853. The item is in excellent operating condition (just serviced in 2010 by EARS - expert audio repair and services) and includes a 30 day warranty. The synth has several desirable mods including LFO Rate, LFO waveform selection, a 4th LFO, a bend input and gate input keyboard cutoff switch. It still has factory plastic on the faceplate.

Originally owned by Grammy Award Winning record producer and songwriter, Walter Afanasieff, and later bought by 39th Street Music in NYC where it was used by the likes of Brian Eno, Laurie Anderson and many others during the 1980's - 2000's. This is a great, warm and fat sounding vintage analog synth!"

Circuit Ben's Romeo and Juliet drum/osc synth Bent

via this auction
"This is a cmos4093 synth, fed into a toy drum machine, causing the oscillators to have a much more extensive range of tones, each oscillator is patched trough a rotary switch, allowing multiple combinations to occur. If you like your noise harsh and grinding, yet constantly evolving, then this is the synth for you.

I housed all the electronics in a "romeo and juliet" cigar box, it had a rather romantic scene on the inside, so I used transparent perspex for the front, so it's visible while you're playing, and under-lit the scene with a diffused bright Pink L.E.D.

Features -

Four Rotary Dials to direct the signals into the circuit. (switched)- each with a custom designed cover - the only four in existence.

Four intensity dials on the left, to adjust the interaction of the drums.

Four dials to play with the oscillators themselves on the right hand side.

Clock tweak knob on the front, to further confuse the toy, or sometimes crash it completely, giving access to the circuit as it's own oscillator.

A large smattering of Rhinestones, inside and out - to confuse and dazzle.

1/4" output jack, for the making of the loud."

Note: I added a wrongbot on Ebay link to the right section as well. See his auctions for other items.

Circuit Ben's Yada + Mario sampling synth Bent

via this auction

"So, this synth is composed of a pitchable voice recorder, and pitchable Mario Bros noise generator.

This means you can record anything you like, including the mario noises, into the recorder - (up to a long, long time, I haven't measured it, but it's ages.) and play them back on a loop. It works with passive signals like guitars, as well as active ones.

The idea for the voice recorder came from getlofi.com. go there, and then tell your friends about it.

Here's the features -

Input jack for voice recorder is a switching one, so the microphone is automatically by-passed when using another instrument.

All the famous Super-Mario noises from the N.E.S, including the lovely coin chime :)

Record speed as well as playback on the voice recorder are both pitched, therefore it can record for ages and playback for a very short time, and vice versa.

Super Mario side can either be patched directly into your mixing desk, or used as an input for the recorder, providing ultra-ultra low mario noise.

Built into a lovely cigar-box.

Nice ultra-bright blue L.E.D signals when recording is taking place - when recording speed is ultra-slow, it can take a while to commence."
