"I suspect many people, like me, have often wondered what the output from an old 3 tube video camera would sound like used in the place of an oscillator in a modular synth system. Well, it can sound a little like this."

AKG Scholarship Of Sound

"LONDON, UK – AKG announced today that it will be offering ten talented electronic music producers and sound students from across Europe the unique chance to take part in the second edition of the AKG Scholarship of Sound.

This year, AKG, the manufacturer of high performance studio, broadcast and live sound equipment, is expanding the programme, opening it to talented individuals from even more countries (including Spain, Italy, Turkey and Russia), offering them the opportunity to spend seven days in Berlin, learning about music and sound.

Building on the success of last year, the Scholarship which takes place from 30th July – 6th August, will again provide a life-changing opportunity for participants. During the week, the students will be advised on how best to develop a career based around their passion for sound and music, with a series of audio workshops and mentoring sessions led by some of electronic music’s leading artists and professionals. Creative development sessions, designed to enhance participants understanding of production and mastering, will be interlinked with in-depth industry insight tutorials to highlight the skills necessary to succeed in the music industry.

Stay tuned for detailed information on the leading artist, contributors and content of the workshops on the Scholarship of Sound 2011, which will be announced at the beginning of March 2011. Those who participated in the Scholarship in its first year (last year) include Dixon the hugely popular house DJ, music producer and founder of Innervisions record label, Jon Berry, manager of the prestigious Kompakt label and Stefan Betke (aka Pole) label manager, producer and mastering engineer of ~scape."

The Starr Labs ZBass

"We here at Starr Labs are pleased to be re-introducing our ZBass Ztar MIDI guitar controller, for a limited time only! Please take a look at the attached product announcement for pix, specs, and features, and here for pricing."

"The new ZBass MIDI bass guitar from Starr Labs offers unsurpassed ultra high-speed MIDI control for today’s bass players. The ZBass differs from other guitar synths in that it provides the industry’s only glitch-free, 4-string x 24 fret touch-sensitive keyed-fingerboard; ideal for playing and controlling all aspects of synthesizers, samplers, sound modules, software, and DAWs. Having all of the features of Starr Labs professional line of Ztars, the ZBass will allow bass players to finally jump into the realm of creative MIDI control, and expanded performance capability! (Oh yeah, we forgot to mention the ZBass comes with a wood neck-stock!)

Being truly polyphonic, the ZBass can simultaneously play multiple notes per-string per fret. The cutting edge touch-sensing keyed-fingerboard has been developed with 32 separate programmable zones, each with its own channel, voice, transposition, tuning, hammer-ons and sensitivity settings. The strings have programmable tunings, and each key on the entire fingerboard may be tuned independently as well. The embedded arpeggiator as well as the programmable chording system may be assigned to separate fingerboard zones, layers and/or frets . This fingerboard system is highly suited to Drum mapping when percussion or loop playback is called for, or composition when accompanying chords are needed.

Features:
* 4 Velocity-sensitive String Triggers
* 4-Way programmable Joysitck
* Wood neck-stock
* Unlimited string and finger board tunings
* 32 Mappable Zones
* Programmable Chording System
* Arpeggiator
* Sequencer
* Volume Pedal Port
* Sustain Pedal Port

"this is a short tour of the hardware interface I've built for midi sequencing. It works along with the software I've written and the software written by Derek Scott of Dobox Recordings. It works with the music software you already have. check out more info here: beatseqr.com"

This video is actually a year old. I missed it in this beatseqr videos post.
