Resonant - the World's first face controlled electric guitar pedal!

YouTube Uploaded by FrontierDesignGroup on Nov 23, 2011

"http://fdgm.us/iShredLIVE - a quick peak behind the scenes at the new effect we are introducing in the next iShred LIVE. It's a grooving new low pass filter with variable cutoff and resonant frequency control.
The real fun comes in for those of you running iOS 5 with a camera. Face control! That's right, you can control this pedal with your FACE! Uses the new built-in face tracking to watch where you face is and track the cutoff and resonant frequencies when you move it."

5 Minutes with Animoog and Ableton Live

YouTube Uploaded by elnoumon on Nov 18, 2011

"A while ago, when I first professed my love for Animoog, I promised to show you how I planned to use it with Ableton. Well, it took me a couple of weeks, but I?ve done it! Here is a video of the workflow that I?ve cobbled together between Ableton and Animoog.

A few notes on how I set this up.

I used the Launchpad to quickly arm and launch new clips that I am recording the Animoog into. When I use a setup like this, where I am using one instrument (be it a synthesizer or an iPad app) to record into mulitple tracks, I like to map the bottom row of the Launchpad to the record-arm buttons of individual tracks. Remember that the default mapping of the Launchpad can be overridden with conventional MIDI mappings. This way, you can keep the whole affair on one page.

Make sure that your record arming is set to ?Exclusive? in the Preferences. This will make it so that only one track can be armed at once. This way, with one button, you can decide which track the instrument is going to.

So, without further ado, here is my improvisation with the Animoog. All sounds except for the drum break are from the iPad app.

A few notes:

I couldn?t get a convincing bass sound out of the app. I think it?s because there is such an emphasis on sounds that evolve over time and I don?t really like that much sonic complexity in my bass sounds.

If you are going to be switching between Presets (as I?ve done here) during improv, I would name them something like _boomtown, with the underscore, or append a number. That will make sure that they are all sequential on the list.

I sure would like to see the ability to make the keys longer, or mess with the scale of the panes in general. I REALLY like the keyboard on this app (the ability to customize is key, har har), but it would be cool if there was more space.

Have any of you worked animoog into your Ableton life yet?"

SG4X1MQA Analog Sound Generator

Cool knobs.
"Put together this Sound Gen to mix some of the effects this puts out. There's plenty of combinations and switch settings to change the freq's output. This came in handy when sending a signal into some of the sequencers I built and changed the sound completely."

Update:
via this auction
"This has many settings to change the frequancy of the output. You can run in into an amp as you can hear on the video below.

There is a left side and a right side control on this unit. The left side and right side has matching setting with independant controls and a center control switch that will blend and completely change the settings of both side generators.

The push button controls will work as pulse channel settings or you can flip the switch to stay on all the time. The blue knob controls will adjust the frequancy and give you a wider setting when you use them. The upper controls are in Yellow and Orange. Those controls will allow the pulse and timing controls to offset the frequanies and change the way the "raise and fall" of the tone, this will also adjust for some strange filtering effects on the output.

There is a ring adjustment that will blend both sides and giving you full control of both the control adjustments. Those are the "Blue" control settings.

On/Off switch will turn on or off this unit, along with a green LED. (Center)

Power supplied to this is a 9Vdc voltage adapter. Center +

1/4 inch output jack is the units output. The size of the unit is 6 x 3 3/4 x 2 inches. The unit has rubber feet under it to keep the unit in place."

MacBeth Vortex Keyboard?

Signed Voyager Demo

"This song is going to get a better name at some point. All of the sounds are Moog Voyager except drums. I really focused on playing the frequency knobs on this one, and the result is a deliciously messy not-always-in-tune slap in the face. Like the last Voyager demo, I feel like this should be made into a full-length song. Maybe, since that's the case, I should feel a little less ambivalent about the Voyager."
