A Brief Note From the Doug Slocum on his SteamPunk Modular

noiZe vieW Online Video Bhudda Machine

via Peter
"A new Buddha Machine was started today: noise-view.bplaced.net. It's a system which plays small youtube videos with recorded 'noize' sessions in a randomized selfplaying way."

In short, you load the page in your browser and a number of YouTube videos load and begin playing. It's not random and there is a bit of code behind it. It's based on Tikirobot.

"Tikirobot has published the source under the AGPL version 3 licence, so it was possible to make a derivative work of their Buddha machine. To make this noize Buddha machine I changed a lot of code, added some new features for easier configuration, multiple videos in one tile and I added some code to set minimum and maximum volume of each video."

You can check out noiZe vieW at noise-view.bplaced.net

Sven Libaek "Solar Flares" LP Featuring the Qaser Fairlight CMI Prototype

"A pioneering recording that featured the Australian designed synthesizer, the Qaser (shown above), which was a prototype of the first digital sampler, the Fairlight CMI. Although recorded in Sydney, it only saw a limited library issue in the UK and has since become a highly collectible LP. Expect Libaek’s trademark sound of sublime spacey jazz exotica. Featuring Australia’s finest studio and jazz musicians. This reissue has newly remastered audio and a deluxe LP jacket with new notes and liner notes with vintage photos."

You can find it on Light In The Attic Records here.

CEM Filter demo

CEM Filter demo from Bill Felton on Vimeo.

"This is a quickie demo of the Modcan CEM Low Pass Filter, model 29A. The video was shot under bad lighting conditions that QuickTime had trouble compensating for. Sorry about the image quality, but it is, after all, more about the sound ;-)
Dual VDO provides the input sound, cutoff, resonance, vc of resonance and self-resonance, and the difference between 0 and -12dB modes are shown/heard.
Primarily intended for the audience at Muff Wiggler forum."
