Breadboarded FM Lunetta Style Synth

YouTube Published on Aug 27, 2012 by centerofmind

"This monster is completely patchable. You don't know what kind of sound you will get until you try out a patch. You can modulate to your hearts content to get white noise, radio freq, vowel like, square wave sounds. There is a sine/saw/square wave LFO, 4-channel mixer, and the ability to plug your guitar or mic directly in to modulate with the synth sound. It's possible to create complex melodies with the right wiring."

1978 ARP 2600 VINTAGE ANALOG SYNTHESIZER 2601 SN 36200837

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated. via this auction
Tons of pics at the auction and below including two ad scans and some of the inside. Check out the solder traces. Auction description: "For your consideration is this vintage 1978 ARP 2600 series "2601" analog synthesizer and matching "3620" keyboard. This particular set, both with matching serial numbers (0837), is in very good all original condition and includes the original cases, owner's manual, patch cables, and the original power cable. The ARP 2600 is considered the absolute benchmark in compact analog semi-modular synthesis. Extremely versatile, and capable of producing a seemingly indefinite amount of both classic and modern synth sounds, the 2600 has become the standard by which other synths are measured. Some sellers ask upward of $9,000.00 for comparable synths, but we decided to offer this example to the highest bidder, with a $.01 Minimum, No Reserve, Free USA Shipping, and discounted Worldwide delivery! So place a bid now, because this synth will be sold to the highest bidder... regardless of price!

Played, and made famous, by a veritable who's who of modern music, the ARP 2600 can be heard on albums by: John Lennon, Stevie Wonder, Joy Division, Kraftwerk, Frank Zappa, Herbie Hancock, Steve Miller, The Beastie Boys, Cat Stevens, The Who, Depeche Mode, U2, and an ever-expansive alumnus of artists whom have featured this amazing synth in their music.

Though not in pristine cosmetic condition, this is a fantastic specimen for a player looking to acquire a fully functional unit. It was recently purchased from the original owner, who actually owned 3 different 2600s, and was maintained and serviced by him throughout his lengthy ownership. At one point, the synth was mounted alongside his others in a fabricated rack unit, but to do so, it required that he added (4) small square perforations through the corners of the front panel. Aside from that, some of the fastening hardware was misplaced and replaced with alternate washers. One voltage processor slider is missing the plastic tip, and another is broken off, both of which function correctly. The 3620 keyboard is in great shape, works perfectly, and has nicely aligned tempered action.

This last version of the 2600 is rare, and while some prefer the sound of the early examples, this final generation was result of stabilizing some of the more inconsistent modules. This also makes it practical for studio use, and plug-in-and-play activity."

"This Polymoog is in fair cosmetic condition. all keys and buttons are present. Lights illuminate when plugged in. Synth doesn't seem to function properly. It is being listed AS-IS. May just need a quick cleaning or serious repair. this is the real Polymoog synth, not just the keyboard, allowing access to all parameters. what you see is what you get... Located in Santa Cruz CA for pick up. Delivery to SF bay area or equal distance may be available for an additional cost..."

Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 SN 1509

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated. via this auction
"The Prophet 5 that I am offering for sale here is an immaculate Prophet 5 Rev 3.0 and a true piece of music history. Everything is in great working order and has been checked, serviced, brought up to factory specs and tested by Wine Country Productions Inc (buyer will receive a copy of the original invoice from Wine Country to show everything that was fixed and/or replaced, with my personal info removed of course) including over 50 hours of operational burn-in without any failures to help ensure that this is what I believe to be truly one of the most exceptional examples of the legendary Prophet 5 available anywhere on the market today. All of the original programs were loaded by Wine Country as well. The wood condition is extremely good considering the age of this instrument: bright an lucid looking almost like it just rolled off the assembly line (see photos). There are a couple minor scratches/blemishes/dings/markings on the instrument (including a couple wood dings and a white marker written on the control panel near the Frequency knob) but nothing that I would say detracts greatly from the overall beauty of this amazing instrument"

Syntorial: The Ultimate Synthesizer Tutorial

On Kickstarter

"Syntorial - The Ultimate Synthesizer Tutorial

Syntorial is a fully interactive training program designed to help users program sounds quicker and easier. Syntorial differs from other synth tutorials in two very important ways:

1. It's software. The current offerings of synth tutorials are either books, videos, articles or websites. And while they can only present information, a program can interact with the user. And that's just what Syntorial does. Through a series of challenges Syntorial gradually builds up your sound design skills so that by the end of the entire tutorial, you're doing it. "Look Ma!"

2. Most tutorials focus on the technical ins-and-outs of synthesizers. Or, they show you how to make a few specific sounds. They fail to address the MOST important skill needed to program synthesizers: a trained ear. Using our Synthesis By Ear method, Syntorial takes you step-by-step through 58 different common synth parameters and trains your ear to instantly recognize how each one effects sound. "Seriosuly, Ma! Look at me! I'm doin' it!!!"

We've launched a KickStarter campaign to help finish development and get Syntorial out into the world. Go to http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/380200165/syntorial-the-ultimate-synthesizer-tutorial to learn more."
