The Crumar Toccata

YouTube Uploaded by astronautapinguim on Apr 19, 2011

Via Astronauta Pinguim where you'll find a great overview of the Crumar Toccata including history and pics.

"Founded in the late '60s/early '70s by Mario Crucianelli, Crumar was an Italian company that became very famous in its time mainly by their synths, keyboards and organs (both in compact or not so compact models). Mario was brother from Pierro Crucianelli, president of Elka - another very well known Italian company. Crumar existed until 1987 and the company's golden age was in the second half of the '70s, when they put on the market their "Pianoman" and "Stringman" models (1974) and later the model that combined the two machines in one, the "Multiman" model (1977). Even with this machine achieving a great reputation on the market, for me Crumar's coolest instruments are the "Hammond organ clones" made from 1974 on which had a great sound, very close to Hammond organs, but much more compact and easier to carry than the originals.

The Crumar Toccata organ was released in 1981 as a more compact version of all previous models of these "Hammond clones", more specifically the model T1/C (whose main difference was having one extra octave - higher than the Toccata's four octaves - and drawbars, like that ones from Hammond organs). The Crumar Toccata organ was manufactured until 1986..." Click here for the full post.

"Original Rhodes Chroma

Not the Polaris

Arp-designed vintage 16 voice / 16 VCO analog poly synth Awesome sound and quite rare

This is not the 6-voice Chroma Polaris. It is the older, rarer 16-voice big brother of that synth. The original Chroma was the last machine designed by Arp when they were still independent (Rhoades bought them, released the Chroma, then they went to work on the Polaris variants).

Serial number 21030860

Powers up but beyond that I'm not sure how to even load a patch (I'm selling it because I never had time to learn the system and I play my other synths but not this one...) so I'm not sure of the operational condition

Note: this thing is large and heavy as heck, shipping costs are very high. Local pick-up okay, no charge"

TWEAKERS Episode Two / The Sticky Rice from TWEAKERS on Vimeo.

"Welcome to TWEAKERS! In this episode, we visit private studio of Thailand based psychedelic dub reggae band The Sticky Rice to introduce their great analog gear collection and how they used them for live and recordings.

The Sticky Rice is a Thailand based 4-piece dub band led by analog synthesizer wizard Puttitorn Taypabood. He started his career as a turntablist for Thai pioneer reggae group T-Bone then joined another legendary reggae group called Kai-Jo Brother as a support guitarist. After spent more than 10 years in a local reggae scene, he finally formed his own group The Sticky Rice with his brother and friends, actively playing show at several events and parties.
They are currently making their debut album and live DVD planned to be released within this year from Thai DIY independent label Panda Records.

Prophet~600 modifications

"Made some new end panels myself and I modeled them after Dave Smith Instrument's end panels that he uses on his 20th Century Prophets.

Basically I used thicker wood; 1'' Red Oak lightly stained Cherry. I think the thicker wood panels look more substantial and improve the overall look of the p600.

I also restored the white indicator lines on all the knobs with a Sharpie White Paint Pen."

"Description

♒ What you see is what you hear ♒

"Soundbeam is a beautiful app by Evil Window Dog. You’ll find yourself playing with it numerous times. "
-Beautiful Pixels

Soundbeam helps you see what everyday sounds look like and visualizes sounds you can't even hear!

Plug in your hands-free earbuds or a music instrument (time to blow the dust off those electric guitars) and get accurate measurements. You can always use the built-in mic.

We paired stylish controls and an old-school interface with high precision signal processing algorithms, creating a new way to experience sound.

Soundbeam is an audio analyzer that processes the input of your microphone in real time displaying it like a classic oscilloscope.

✰ Get a dose of nostalgia with Soundbeam now! ✰

Key Features:
✔ Spectrum and waveform views
✔ Gesture support for frequency range and magnitude levels adjustment
✔ Visualization controls
✔ ...and one more thing! Plug in your headset or guitar and watch what happens!

Controls:
• While in "spectrum mode", pinch the monitor vertically or horizontally to change frequency range and magnitude levels respectively. You can also pan the soundwave with one finger.
• In "waveform mode" pinch the screen vertically to adjust magnitude levels.
• Double tap on the screen to reset view.
• Tap & slide the intensity knob horizontally to adjust it."
