"ARP Axxe MK-I 2310. This is the famous "lawsuit" version which has the moog filter. The unit is in full working order - it was recently serviced at Analogics. Calibrated, cleaned up and tuned up.This is a great synthesizer in many ways, it's good as a "middle man" with all of it's CV/GATE in's and out's, and functions well as a synthesizer to play lead riffs. The modulation is classic, with its LFO options and Sample and Hold feature. Just listen to "Man Machine" by Kraftwerk, the fast, snappy ARP envelope is definitely present here! Cosmetically the unit is in pretty good shape, all sliders, slider caps, knobs etc are in tact. The original output jack for this instrument was RCA, I had it switched to standard instrument cable 1/4". This should save a headache. The sliders are surprisingly smooth considering the age of the instrument. All keys are level with no trigger issues, as this was just serviced..."

Noisepad Infomercial

Published on Oct 16, 2012 by iphonkapps

"In need for a live sampler on stage in combination with his standard gear, DJ Chuckie came up with this mobile tool for live performances; Noisepad, a vintage drum computer/beat maker made out of love for house music. This live-set tool is filled with all the features you need for your performance and to create beats/music.

It has been designed to give you the most functionality and fun without having to go through a steep learning curve. After installation you'll find 5 preloaded soundbanks of 12 samples each, ready to start the beat making. You'll be bouncing your head within 5 minutes, that's a promise!

The onboard sequencer allows you to program up to 12 patterns on-the-fly, each with their own duration (1 -- 99 bars). Switching between patterns is seamless; the sequencer makes sure the next pattern starts when the current has finished. Apply effects to the pattern, mute samples or have them playing solo on your command. Adjust the Beats Per Minute with precision or by tapping at the speed of the beat and add a bit of swing to make the beat feel just right.

It adds a new dimension to your live-sets, parties and all places where you want to make noise. Synchronize the BPM with the music you're playing and add a little bit of your own flavor to it, or simply trigger the samples by hand. Real-time effects such as pitch, delay, cut-off, phase, reverb and bit-crush will bring your noise to life.

Organize the samples into your own custom soundbanks using the built-in organizer. Once you're done playing with the packaged samples, the in-app shop provides additional soundpacks to discover or you can load your own samples using iTunes File Sharing for unlimited possibilities.

Custom samples are from: Lorna - Papi Chulo"

Borderlands Granular Synth for iPad Released

Videos previously posted here.

"Borderlands Granular is a new musical instrument for the iPad.

NOTE: Borderlands Granular is designed for iPad 2 and 3. It will run on the iPad 1, but with slower performance due to the heavy requirements of the audio processing.

Explore, touch, and transform sound with this new interface for granular synthesis, a technique that involves the superposition of small fragments of sound, or grains, to create complex, evolving timbres and textures.

Borderlands Granular emphasizes gestural interaction over knobs and sliders. Create, drag, and throw pulsing collections of grains over a landscape of audio files, or use the built-in accelerometer to sculpt sound with gravity. Record and share performances on the web.

More information including demo videos and examples is available at www.borderlands-granular.com

DS-10 Dominator - Formulas

Published on Oct 17, 2012 by DS10Dominator

"As DS-10 Dominator I always experiment with the crossover of different EDM genres. In Formulas you can find influences from acid, drum 'n' bass, gabber, footwork, dubstep. Music (played live on Nintendo DS) & video editing by DS-10 Dominator (Rutger Muller). Camera images by Youssef Kaputnik (Akemiƶ Grey) ! TV-oscilloscope property of Rubin van Kooyk :).

"We're not going to arrive at a brand new sound or note or anything. It has to be a combination of two elements that together creates a third. The only way to arrive at something a little different is by combining things now." -- Bill Laswell (taken from EDM documentary Modulations)"
