Ciate Lonbarde Rollz-5 Steampunk Drum Machine

"This is a Rollz-5 drum machine that I have hand built and housed in a vintage thermocouple connector box.

The drum machine has 6 drum voices that are triggered by a multitude of clocks that modulate each other to produce interesting repetitive sounds. The clocks are all generated by capacitor-resistor networks. The drum voices are all generated by ic's, mostly op-amp circuits. Have a look on the Ciat-Lonbarde website for more information on this drum machine.

I have retained as many of the original fittings as possible. So the central knob adjusts the master gain output. However, there are also 6 individual outputs to allow fine adjustments using an external mixer. There are Moog style fluted knobs to control the frequency cut-off of each of the drum voice.

All of the patch points are brass binding posts or banana sockets. This allows you to use bare wire or banana jacks to connect the circuits and drum voices together.

You can synchronise this drum machine with 5V signals from other equipment by plugging into any of the connectors.

The box is made from a hardwood with it's own original leather handle. It looks pretty stealthy for a drum machine. An etched brass plated is fixed to the inside lid to give basic instructions on how to operate the instrument.

Power is supplied via a 9V DC socket, you will have to supply your own power supply unit as countries have their own specific voltages and frequencies. I will not be supplying banana jack cables or an external mixer, sorry!
