Analogue Solutions Polymath Paraphonic Modular Synthesiser #03

Published on Nov 6, 2013 rezfilter·64 videos

"Here's another example of the Analogue Solutions Polymath performing one of its many talents: paraphony.

In this example, the Polymath is connected via MIDI to a DAW running Logic. A string of MIDI notes in Logic dictate the clock speed (and sequencer speed) on the Polymath (using MIDI NOTE #00). This is a very flexible way to have the Polymath sequencer follow your projects and the tempo set in your DAW. See the manual for more information.

You can hear the filter being opened and closed via the sequencer sliders on the Polymath. Small adjustments of various parameters on the Polymath front panel were made to alter the live sequence.

Still only seeing imports from Japan.

According to the following via KORG, it was released in Japan in May of 2013 and was to be released globally in the Summer of 2013.

"DETUNE Ltd. (Located at Shinjuku-ku Tokyo, Japan/ C.E.O – Nobuyoshi Sano) and KORG Inc. (Located at Inagi-City, Tokyo, Japan/ President - Seiki Kato) are pleased to announce the release of the jointly developed musical instrument software for Nintendo 3DS Downloads: "KORG M01D".

The KORG M01D is a music workstation based on the KORG M1 the world’s first widely known music workstation. The M1 was released in 1988 by KORG Inc., one of the most famous and leading electronic musical instrument companies. The KORG M01D reproduces the M1’s unforgettable digital sounds of the 80s such as the “M1 piano”, still heard on many songs today.

With 24 voice-polyphony, over 300 sounds and an easy to operate sequencer, the KORG M01D helps you play and create your music at any place, and at any time, in a palm-size package!

Furthermore, the KORG M01D maximizes the range of music making possibilities with the excellent functionality of the Nintendo 3DS dual screens and performs sensuous note input with the sound control mode of the touch screen. This brings the “fun” experience beyond the music workstation, for everyone from beginners to professionals.

The song data and MIDI data can be saved to an SD card so the KORG M01D can be used as a sketchpad. You can preserve all of your musical ideas which can be later converted to your DAW system for more serious music production. In addition, anyone can exchange song data using Nintendo 3DS Wi-Fi via the Internet.

Sold in Japan since August 2010 as a package, the KORG M01D has been highly acclaimed by creators and performers who love gadget musical instruments. Now with this download version, the KORG M01D is available worldwide.

The KORG M01D will be unveiled at the worlds’ biggest music instrument expo, “Musikmesse” in Frankfurt Germany, this month.

Toolbox Synth - Danny Carey of Tool uses drum pads as controller

Published on Nov 7, 2013 Peter Grenader·21 videos

"Finally set aside the time to integrate the Toolbox Synth with drum pads, something I specifically designed this synth to do, at the Tool man cave In Hollywood and Danny Carey tries it out for the first time before their rehearsal begins - October 5, 2013.

A recently acquired Roland drum pad synth is used as a midi controller in this instance via a Doepfer 190-B Midi to CV converter, utilizing gate out to trigger a Plan B Model 10, 1v/octave voltage out to control three Plan B Model 15 VCOs and the aftertouch to provide a secondary amplitude VC in a Plan B Model 25 (VCA section) to provide dynamic response to the pressure applied to the pads, which is offset via a Plan B Model 14 Voltage Processor. Enjoy, or not!"

AniModule Controlling Metasonix

Published on Nov 7, 2013 Ritchie DeCarlo·132 videos

"Just testing this Custom Triple VCO Synth Module. My Metasonix D-1000 & R55 both need external Oscillators to play IN TUNE.
Having to use 2 or 3 of my VCOs for this task was getting to be a burden.
I WANT MY VCOs FOR OTHER SOUNDS IN MY PATCHES!!
So the search for 3 Euro VCO modules to dedicate to this task started about 2 months ago.
Most on the market are expensive & 3 will take up valued SPACE!

JRock was nice enough to work with me,,,,,
Here we have 3 very basic AniModule VCOs at 10hp!!!"

Volca Beats controlled by VCO

Published on Nov 7, 2013 cirtcele·103 videos

"Output of VCO connected to 'sync in' of Korg Volca Beats. The VCO is controlled by a nonlinearcircuits CA sequencer so output varies but the sync in signal ranges from approx 90 000 to 600bpm. At higher speeds the Volca craps out and stops until the signal slows down. Once again it is not pretty, but it is fun to explore the boundaries of this device."
