Ableton Live Dark Synth by Amazing Noises

Published on Feb 13, 2014 AbletonInc·179 videos

"Dark Synth by Amazing Noises is an innovative new Max for Live synthesizer that marries the vast possibilities of additive synthesis with a super-intuitive interface. As a great starting point for immersive sound-shaping, Dark Synth will introduce you to new horizons in sound design.

Learn more and get Dark Synth at https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/dark-synth

"With Dark Synth’s 2048 independently-controllable partials (sine wave oscillators) it’s possible to create everything from classic waveforms such as sawtooth and square, to complex custom waveshapes. But this is only the beginning – with direct access to each partial, you can take total control of your sound.

Within minutes of using Dark Synth you’ll be crafting complex and dynamic sounds; from rich Detroit-style techno pads to lo-fi chillwave soundscapes, Dark Synth will give you amazing sonic flexibility with the most precise control.

Dark Synth excels when it comes to generating strange and otherworldly sounds. Filtering and distorting waveforms at the spectral level will open up a world of experimental possibility. Spectral transformations can be accessed directly from the hands-on interface.

A unique feature of Dark Synth is the capability to create up to 128 detuned and phase-shifted copies of all 2048 partials. This vast ‘choir’ of oscillators creates a deep and natural chorus effect.

Dark Synth harnesses the latest Max for Live technologies and is a synthesiser quite unlike anything that has come before. Welcome to the cutting-edge of digital synthesis.

What Is Additive Synthesis?

Additive synthesis can be described as an extension of the draw-bar organ; A set of sine-wave oscillators in harmonic series are mixed together in different amounts to shape the tone of a sound. The legendary Hammond Organ had just nine oscillators, a limitation imposed by the physical size and cost of the instrument. However with the help of virtual oscillators, the real power of additive synthesis can be realised. With enough oscillators whose amplitude can modulated, it's theoretically possible to create any sound."

Lunetta Guitar Gen-Ottonix 01

Published on Feb 13, 2014 NakagawaGakki·52 videos

"Very First test for the Gen-Ottonix 12string Robo-guitar.
Just like the large 8string version this is made with all analogue CMOS discrete circuitry. A portable Modular Synth controlled string instrument in a vintage briefcase. No programming, coding, micro controllers nor computers of any kind.
This patch was testing the delay circuits on the muting solenoids and the nice buzzing sounds of aluminium foil on the strings.
More videos to follow."

Plus, it also has the quaint features of a organ-top drum machine. It's a humble monster."

Korg Mono/Poly Demo - For Sale

Published on Feb 13, 2014

"I'm just quickly showing that all the keys work, that it is in stable tuning, and mono and poly modes are working. There is a tiny bit of Ableton reverb. I then tweak a sequence via midi from Ableton (bassline from Castlevania?) with some drums. This Mono/Poly is retrofitted with CHD Midi. Then at the end I push it a little more intense and engage some of the FX/modulation on board. The on board arpeggiator is going at the same time as Ableton's arpeggiator. Cool effect because you can keep where the arpeggios start and stop syncd in time to Ableton but change the note value on the Mono itself, giving you a lot of weird stuff in that space between. Note to buyer: Midi is set to ch. 13. Thanks!"
