8 Bit Jukebox

Published on May 15, 2014 littleBits TV·391 videos

"Project Instructions: http://littlebits.cc/projects/8-bit-8...

The 8-bit Jukebox is a chiptune music box powered by littleBits' new Arduino module. The module is programmed with 4 different songs that playback with a retro, video-game-styled 8-bit sound. To select which song you would like to play, just insert one of the 4 song cartridges into a slot on top of the box. Embedded in each cartridge is a light filter with a different opacity. Inserting the cartridge triggers an LED to shine light through the filter, and a light sensor determines which song cartridge was inserted by reading the amount of light passing through the filter. Two different littleBits synth modules, Envelope and Delay, give you a chance to play with the audio single creating a more dynamic sound.

littleBits makes an open source library of electronic modules that snap together with magnets for prototyping, learning, and fun. Find out more at littleBits.cc"

The Boolean Serge

Published on May 15, 2014 DJjondent·219 videos

"Experimenting with a bit Boolean music
care of a NLC 4x4 binary logic module.
Though these types of modules have been around for ages
you don't often hear music sequenced solely with logic gates.

The nonlinear circuit (NLC) 4x4 logic module is made up
of 4 identical circuits. Each has a different CMOS chip... which will produce related though different sequences & triggers. These kinds of modules are great for triggering drums.

Suitable ICs for use in these circuits are
4001 NOR
4011 NAND
4071 OR
4081 AND
4077 XNOR
4030 or 4070 XOR

I actually don't know which IC is in which circuit.
... more fun this way. :)

I'll post more info & pics later on my blog."

Plumbutter having Bass with friend Coco

Published on May 14, 2014 npichon1·86 videos

"Mostly cocoquantus but getting the bass setup first for a couple minutes
I enjoy having the gongs set oppositely (one trad one gonz) when putting a bass into them
tune them up together so that the BP type filter (gonz) sets right at the top Frequency of the LP filter (trad)
this allows for some nice low lows while still allowing higher notes/harmonics to come through nicely

eventually I loop some material into each coco

I prefer using my foot pedal to start.stop looping but I didn't use it for this video

around 330 I'm sending one balcium ranged tussy triangle output to both cocos. One is going to an inverso and one is going to a verso which creates the panning effect

I add some slow waving ultrasound interpretations of the delay only outputs from the cocos by sending a triangle wave to one of its verso/inverso inputs"

Angelfire Generator Analog synth semimodular delay echo 4 oscillator new voodoo design

"We're only making a few of these but pretty cool-its got 4 analog oscillators and a white noise source. You can control the oscillator pitch individually with knobs for each or you can assign to the joystick-which can also be used to trigger the synth generally with the trigger buttons. Has a waveform section allowing you to alter the waveform via a bank of switches. Delay has all standard control as well-knobs for time, delay/feedback, gain, and %/mix and can be used seperately (by itself)-as has its own ins and outs-sme as the synth-or in conjunction with the synth as shown. VIDEO IS VERY SHORT-does NOT give even 1% of capabilities(as nothing is altered bout the sound/patch used), but perhaps an idea-as shows application of delay, use of joystick, etc."
