The Oberheim Oberview with Noise Nachos

Flickr by Scott Rogers

"Oberheim once sent me this when I ordered a manual from them. It's called Oberview and has some cool info and a neat patch."

I might have some of these lying around somewhere.  I got them when I picked up my first synth, a Matrix-6, back in the day, hence matrix.

Pictured in order:

"Using Noise Modulation on the Matrix-6/6R" on page 2. Noise Nachos patch for the Matrix-6/6R in the bottom right.

Grove Audio Eurorack USB MIDI to CV Converter

"A Eurorack compatible USB MIDI to CV converter uses the Teensy 3.1 microcontroller as its USB port and controller. The 6HP wide unit includes 2 CV channels, 2 gate channels, an isolated DIN MIDI input connector and a DIN MIDI output connector.

The control voltage output range is internally settable to 0-10 Volts or -5-+5 Volts. The gate signal is 0-5 Volts active-high. The software for the unit is open-source and can be reloaded and modified by the user. A programming development environment that utilizes the Arduino IDE with a Teensy support add-in can be used to create new functions using Arduino-like commands.

The module will be available in the Synth Store either assembled or as a complete kit. A demo program will be available that provides a two CV output and also allows USB MIDI note commands to be sent and received from the serial MIDI ports."

"By utilizing conductive paint and a Teensy microchip I was able to measure the change in capacitance which would then send a trigger to Pure Data which was programmed to choose a random sample from a folder of about 300 instrumental sounds. The chosen sample would then be put through various perimeters (i.e. reverb, flanger, volume) at a semi-random rate, depending which foot was touched. The higher the feet, the higher the range within each permitter."

Elektron Analog Four - First Contact

"First track plays the 'Sub Kick' sound while another 2 tracks make the sound effects .

I wanted to demonstrate the modulation capabilities of the A4 so all the changes in the sounds come from LFOs and Envelopes (No 'Parameter Locks' were used ) , I only play here with the levels of each track , including the FX track ."

1st jam session. Elektron Analog Four, MFB Tanzbär, Korg Monotron Delay and E-mu SP 1200 ..

"Today I was jamming around a bit around with my gear, it´s far from perfect ( missed breaks, issues with the levels of the sounds etc.. ) as you will hear , but I was a lot of fun using hardware. I just went trough once before recording it.

I had some word samples on the SP and linked it into the Korg Monotron Delay for the effect. the Monotron Delay goes into a tiny 4 channel mixer ( Behringer MX400). the Mono signal of the MFB Tanzbär goes into the MX400 as well. The output of the MX400 goes into Elektron Analog 4 and the single output of the MFB Tanzbär Clap too. I recorded (using Apogee Duet firewire) finally from the stereo output of the Analog 4 using Ableton Live. If you have suggestions, feel free to comment"
