"More leads and basses for the Yamaha DX9. Some are made from scratch (init), and others are heavilly tweaked factory presets. Reverb/chorus is added midway through to hear the dry sound as well as the processed sound."

GOLT! Basic Acid Patch, Modular Synthesizer

Published on Jan 25, 2015 GOLT Modular

"I finally finished my Eurorack modular synth and home made sequencer!

It's a 32 Step Trigger sequencer that synchronises to MIDI and is linked to a 16 Step CV / Gate sequencer.

I thought the best way to celebrate was with some spontaneous ACID! This is the first time I really got to use the modular, so the patch is fairly simple; Seq - Quantizer - RS95E - VCF303 - Manhattan Analog VCA - A199. I didn't even bother tuning the oscillators or even using an Envelope Generator. The Envelope came from the VCF303 Decay / Env Out.

The drums came from the Jomox XBASE 888 which I absolutely love. The 888 main out L was bought into the modular via the Doepfer A-199 and then filtered with the A-106-5 SEM Type VCF in LP/HP mode. The 4MS PEG provided the modulation for the filter.

Hope you like it."

Axoloti guitar multi-fx

Published on Jan 26, 2015 Axoloti

"Axoloti does the effects processing controlled with a MIDI pedalboard, amplified through a Phonic powermixer and Metro speakers, recorded with a Zoom H4N through its built-in mikes.
No other sound sources than guitar and Axoloti. The EMS Synthi 100 on the background is not connected :)" But it does get the post.

Wireless LinnStrument with StarrLabs AirPower 3 prototype

Published on Jan 26, 2015

"Only at NAMM! StarrLabs came by the LinnStrument booth with a prototype of their upcoming AirPower3. Wireless class compliant MIDI over USB with 36 hours of bus power built in. The latency is barely noticeable, I could only slightly feel it when playing rapid 64th notes. With that we instantly have a perfect wireless solution for using the LinnStrument on any stage!

More info: http://www.starrlabs.com/product/airp..."

"Now all of your favorite USB MIDI devices are wireless! The AirPower3 works with all class compliant USB MIDI devices such as the Novation Launchpad, Ableton Push, Alesis Keyboards and hundreds of other instruments and devices. Features include 16 selectable RF channels, dropout protection to prevent stuck notes , and up to 200′ of unobstructed range. 'AirPower, the possibilities are wireless…'"

He mentions the C.24 is the only poly aftertouch controller on the market for under $1000. There's actually the CME Xkeys as well. The Xkey, however, does not support wireless blue tooth like the C.24 and requires USB power.

Some amazing bits of synth trivia and history in this one. Make the time to watch it through if you can. There are demos of the rare GX1 & VL7. Less than a dozen were made and only three VL7s left the company and were sold.

See this post for some history on FM synthesis from Dave Bristow, the man who programmed the presets of the GS1, Yamaha's first FM synthesizer.
