via Propellerhead:

"Mixfood Unison Xs contains 1100 different waveforms. Standard waveforms include Sine, InverseSine, Triangle, Square and Saw. Next to the standard waveforms Mixfood Unison Xs hosts many more crazy but usable waveforms. With 2 oscillators, each containing the same 550 waveforms many different sounds can be created. Each oscillator has its own controls which include: level, shape and tone control. Both oscillators are routed through the effects and the LFO. After that a filter and amp envelope add more control to the synth. On the master output an extra filter is added for the finishing touch. A Sub-Oscillator is added for extra depth!

Use the Unison with Stereo Spread for more Wow and the Pitch Drop Fx for extra Punch! It gets even better when using the EQ fx combined with the LFO, try it and you'll love it.

Mixfood Unison Xs is perfect for all music styles and can produce all kinds of different synth sounds, from deep bass to hard, sharp synth sounds.

If you flip the rack over, 6 audio outputs are revealed. The main mix, 2 "wet" audio outputs and 3 "dry" audio outputs. The "wet" audio outputs contain the processed signal of each of the 2 oscillators, the "dry" audio outputs contain the signal of the unprocessed/clean signal of each of the 2 oscillators or the sub-oscillator. This way all of the 1100 waveforms can be used! By combining Mixfood Unison Xs with all your favorite effects endless possibilities are at your fingertips.

The price is fixed at €/$19!"

Live Modular Synth Performance: "Lifepod" by P.O.B.

Published on Jun 29, 2015 Patrick OBrien

"This is the live set I put together for my modular synthesizer performance at the Analogue Haven event in Santa Monica, CA on June 26, 2015. The conditions weren't ideal to record there, so I recorded a version from my studio.

The visuals of the performance: Imagine launching a lifepod into space followed by the crew knocking back some suds, partying it up in orbit -- then suddenly aliens attack, leaving the crew unconscious. When they awaken, they're helpless -- as the lifepod floats out into the abyss where they eventually die. TADA!

Specs:
- The atmospheric sound in the beginning is the Make Noise DPO sent to Dave Smith Instruments' Curtis Filter, leading to QuBit Electonix's RT60 reverb, coming out stereo. I used Intellijel's Planar to slowly warp between 4 different low tones as well.

- The melody in the first dance song is from the Pittsburgh OSC sent through the Korgasmatron, Grainshift, Errorbox and Freqshift and is played on the QuNexus Midi/CV controller

- The drum sounds are all from Mutable Instruments Peaks. I used two of them.

- Sequencing is done by Intellijel's Metropolis, Kilpatrick Audio's K4815, and the Make Noise Rene.

- The siren in the middle is Malekko's Noisering being CV'ed via 4ms's Quad Pingable LFO then going through Intellijel's uFold.

- The bells come from Mutable Instruments' Elements.

- The orange and red cases are from Monorocket.

No computers were used in this piece. All modular synths.

I am P.O.B. & have also established myself as obrienmedia on social media.

8CYLINDER Demos The New Evaton Technologies CLX Dual Clocked Logic Module

8CYLINDER describes the patch:

"CLX AND and XOr outs as FM modulation sources for Pittsburgh Generator and Intellijel Dixie [attenuated a bit before running into the Dixie Lin FM input]. In addition, CLX outputs are controlling Position on the Orgone Accumulator. The variations in sound over time in this recording are mostly from changing the rates of CLX A and B and the polarity/amount of FM'ing on each oscillator, as well as how much Position CV is being applied to the Orgone. There's a little bit of filtering, EKO, and Halls of Valhalla to liven it up."

No audio. Just a 12 second clip of a "Maxon" branded Minimoog. Thought it was a good render and worth a post.

"Test 4K render using Cinema 4D Studio R16 + team render. I created a camera and lighting rig along with the synth model included with R16. From there, I rendered the animation at 4096x2160 across 7 machines. Total render time: 62 Hours. Smomid demonstration: microtonal tuning and algorithmic processes

Published on Jun 30, 2015

"This is video is was recorded at Santa Monica College in May 2015. In this clip Nick Demopoulos is demonstrating how he uses several different tunings, including a microtonal 36 notes to the octave one, in a musical context. He also creates backing voices using an algorithmic process. Smomid is an acronym for string modeling midi device and is the instrument employed in this video."
