OTO Machines Bim short and fast stereo delays

Published on Mar 18, 2016 duncanperson's channel

"Some solo time with the Bim. Stereo chorus effects, 'freeze' mode, and some other heavy delays. Sorry about the clipping people! There might be a bit of big sky reverb mixed in, can't remember :o I did not use the JU-06's chorus (even though it sounds good)

The BIM is a very controllable delay, and the biscuit really expands its potential. The modulation control is nice with multiple LFO waveforms. I'm having trouble using the Ping Pong mode, but the other modes sound great. The filters really make the delay sound fat of clean or any combination - it's the perfect feature to allow the repeats to sit perfectly in a mix. In my video I have the input gain set to max to make use of the built in limiter. Freeze is a cool feature, and can be set to backwards or forwards and its MIDI controllable. As with the biscuit (still going great after 6 years), build quality is brilliant! It was hard to wait so long for the new OTO product but this new one is sure to be a classic and get lots of studio love :)"

Roland Juno-60 vs. Korg Polysix Analog Synthesizer (1982)

Roland Juno-60 vs. Korg Polysix analog synthesizer battle

Both synths are made in 1982. One VCO (Polysix) + Sub-Osc. and one DCO (Juno-60) + Sub-Osc, analog filter and amp, internal fx unit with chorus 1&2 (JU-60) and chorus, phaser and ensemble (P-6), arpeggiator, no MIDI and 6 voices.

For the sound battle I have programmed near identical sound settings. Most without the internal fx.

The sound character is different and both are great. I think it is a matter of taste what you like. The Juno-60 sounds like 80s pop and the Polysix like 70s Disco."

PHOENIXSYNTH - Synth Meet Coming to Phoenix College March 26

via Analog Industries (Chris Randal of Audio Damage's blog):

"if you're in the PHX area on Saturday, March 26th, we have a synth meet at Phoenix College you should probably attend. I'll be there with the latest and greatest from AD, and Blue Lantern and Synthesis Technology will also be in attendance. It's free to one and all, and runs from 2PM to 6PM, as the picture above implies. Plenty of room, tables, etc. Bring your interesting shit. Nobody cares about your D50, so leave that at home..."

Bring the D50! It is the one digital synth from Roland's early days worth checking out. It introduced Linear Arithmetic synthesis. I always wanted one but never got around to picking one up. The JD-800 looks nice with all of the sliders and control, but I believe it's more standard PCM with a hint of LA synthesis. I haven't really looked into it, so if you know the differences please leave a comment below.

Befaco - Rampage

Published on Mar 18, 2016 DivKidVideo

"Here's the Rampage module from Befaco a great dual function generator with loads of CV and added logic outputs. YES IT'S LIKE MATHS! and like Maths it's based on the Serge and Buchla slope / ramp generators.

As the ideas in the modules are used across many function generators and modules the video will serve a way to learn about those functions and ideas present on plenty of other modules.
