Mopho SE & Desktop + Tetra Polychain, Minilogue, TR8 Jam

Published on Mar 20, 2016 Earmonkey Music

"Got a Mopho SE polychained with a Mopho Desktop and a Tetra for six voices. This jam doesn't really use the Polyphony, but it does use Unison mode later in the jam, which gives you 6 fat voices layered together. The Minilogue is playing a factory preset which I liked so much I just jammed along with it.
Enjoy"

Korg Sigma - video #1

Published on Mar 20, 2016 noddyspuncture

"My little Korg Sigma.... it's been sitting in a state of disrepair for quite a few years. Somehow I never really got around to looking at it... until last week that is. I was starting to fault find on it the day I heard the news about Emo. In fact, I was in the middle of working on it when my phone rang and I was told what had happened. And I've not touched it since... didn't feel I had the inclination or the concentration needed. Yesterday though, I felt I needed a distraction so I went back to it and it wasn't long before she was up and running again. So here is my first ever 'Sigma' video. I'm going to always have a strange feeling about this little synth each time I look at it or play it...!"

1980s Japanese Koto Synthesizer with Rare Sounds Suiko ST10

"Here is a very Rare 1980s Japanese Koto Synthesizer made by Suiko. Model is the ST10.

The Koto Synthesizer is an esoteric Japanese electronic musical instrument which is very hard to find (even in Japan). It reproduces traditional Japanese instruments.

Internal speaker or you can output to an amp. The jack is a bit temperamental but works. Tape recorder works but play back is a bit glitchy

It has 3 voices (Koto, shakuhachi flute, pipe organ. The sounds are super warm and realistic. Suffice to say this instrument will open up some new ideas for you.

There switches for reverb/echo, pitch etc. There also appears to be an internal memory (aside from the tape).

110V power plug - so you will need a step down transformer from Jaycar.

Dimensions are approximately 40cm by 15cm and less than 2KG."

TTSH ARP 2600 Clone

"IBYP's most recent TTSH V2, ARP 2600 semi-modular synthesizer cloneWhite Ring edition. Although 20% smaller in size, the Two Thousand Six Hundred Version 2 (version 1 improved ) has proven to sound and play as hard as its predecessors. The TTSH is a resurrection of the classic hybrid-modular synth, ARP 2600 AKA the original Star WarsR2D2 voice as well as many classic arcade games. It offers 3 oscillators, endless modulation possibilities and a built in 4AB3C1C reverb tank for a more long and natural warm decays. Designed by The Human Comparator and built by IBYP, this TTSH V2 was tested and tuned with precision to fit in all musical environments.

Since early January 2016, the The Human Comparator discontinued the boards and panels to make room for more great products to come. This monster is now considered among the rare classics we spend most of our time hunting down and will surely go up in demand considering not many were built. I've had allot of fun building them and now its time to sell my last one.. well not really my last.. I've kept one for my self ;)

The TTSH unique neo style case was designed and hand crafted by IBYP's own designer Lou Davis. The Neo style case is inspired by one's perception of physics due to its sleek slanted design. It gives the impression that the case is on the verge of falling when viewed from it sides but thanks to the storage compartment in the back, the TTSH had a very solid base to stand on. The compartment makes it practical to store your cables, power supply as well as cue sheets or other junk we musicians tend to carry around. As for the case finish, a black Duratex plastic paint was chosen for better durability and resistance while also providing a beautiful end product, catches the eye of everyone's first glance. The white ring edition speaks for itself, the 1/8" and the 1/4" ring connectors have been carefully coated white and a Moog style knob was added for the preamp volume control.

It is very easy to setup in any midi situation, just connect any midi controller, sequencer with a CV/Gate out to the CV/Gate input on the TTSH and you're ready to explore a universe of endless soundscape possibilities! I recommend anyone passionate about analog synths to go the extra mile and get this version 2 of TTSH, it's a musical beast, a must have!"
