"During SonicTalk last week (Sonic TALK 459 - Bionic Sustain) Ty Unwin enthused about Zynaptiq's Adaptiverb. I decided to give it a go with its 30 day free trial. The Synth noodle is based on a track I recorded many years ago. The Theremin also has some Eventide Black Hole for extra space. Basically an excuse to wash everything in way too much 'verb and be very loose with tone. I hope you enjoy.

Having 4 sample channels is indeed limiting so I'm gonna have to play around more to find a way to create a more complete tracks. I suspect that having drumloop samples instead of individual percussion sounds will free up at least one extra slot."

"It is with a heavy heart that I must bid farewell to my beloved Hohner String Melody II (sometimes also branded Logan, exact same synth). I used to have one of the famed Arp Solina String Ensembles stacked on top but decided I could only justify keeping one...and the Hohner won out!!! To me, it sounded so much deeper and the chorus more swirly!
As you can see it is in great cosmetic condition for it's age (late 70s). One of the coloured slider knob 'caps' has come off. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with the case lid and the handle is missing also. The metal plate that surrounds the sliders was loose and a bit battered when I got it so I straightened it out and have stuck in place. But, overall, very, very good.
Functionally, it is just as it should be. All the keys sound and all the sounds and functions work. There is a slight crackle on the 'Bass' slider but nothing that a quick squirt of contact cleaner wouldn't sort out. I opened it up to check inside (hence why you can see the screws of the case sticking up in the photos) and everything looks good and clean, no leaking components etc. There is a slight bit of underlying noise but only at high volumes - this indicates that it could eventually do with a re-cap (show me a 70s synth in all-original condition that doesn't need one and I'll show you that you're holding nothing, ha ha) altho it's perfectly usuable as is - or a cheap noise gate could be used for a easier fix. But, as I say, it really is very quiet and I only mention it in the pursuit of full disclosure.
So, how does it sound? Well, I LOVE it! Really thick, chorus-y, analogue loveliness. Just an hour ago I recorded video on YouTube to both show that it is fully functioning and to give you an idea of the different sounds..."

Sequential Circuits Pro One J-wire Edition

J-wire has to do with how the keyboard makes contact when triggering notes. There is a metal bar that runs behind the keyboard. When you press a key the back of it tilts up of course. On the back is a wire that makes contact with the metal bar and the note is triggered. I once picked up a "broken" Pro-One for $135, if I remember correctly, because it had a sticky note. I opened it up and saw that the j-wire for one note was bent upwards making perpetual contact with the bar. I bent it back straight and all was good. :)

Lovely example of pure analog synthesis. Famous examples of its signature sounds are abundant.
This system lineage:
Casey Young: Bought new. Designed keyboard setup for Rick Wakeman of YES. Toured with YES as off-stage fill-in keyboardist. Later, Casey taught synthesizers in Portland Oregon. Michael Garrison was one of his students, and bought the instrument from him.
Michael Garrison: Electronic musician and performing artist. Met fellow electronic musician Craig Padilla at a performance in Mt Shasta California where the two exchanged notes about performing electronic music live, and became friends. Sadly, Michael passed away much too young.
Craig Padilla: Arranged to purchase this instrument from the estate of Michael Garrison. This instrument was then used by Skip Murphy and Craig Padilla in their studio, and can be seen on some YouTube videos.
Skip Murphy: Well, we now have 2 of these ARP 2600’s, so it is somewhat redundant. Now is time to sell this one so that somebody else can enjoy it, and add to its lineage.
Recently cleaned and calibrated by George Mattson, of Mattson Modular. It is in full working order but missing one slider cap on Sample and Hold Rate. That doesn’t affect performance, and you could get a matching cap online if you like. No keyboard, just the synth. It was most recently used with various analog step sequencers, but any 1 volt per octave keyboard or source will run it. Will throw in some patch cords too, but it plays without any patch cords required, due to the unique normalization design. This unit is absolutely stock, with no modifications I am aware of.
Clean and no noticeable flaws, except for the missing slider cap mentioned. Minor scuff marks on the Tolex, as one would expect for an instrument of this vintage. Will be professionally packed and shipped UPS, as they have a good history with shipping this synth.
The EBay listing wants it to say it has 49 keys and an AC Adapter for a power supply, and an arppegiator/sequencer which is not true. I can't seem to figure out how to correct that in the listing. It has no keyboard and the power supply is built in."

"The 223e comprises two components: A 3-panel-unit tactile surface (the Multi-Dimensional Kinesthetic Input) for generating user control data, and the single-panel Tactile Input Port module, which provides edit / programming control for the tactile surface, and houses the control voltage outputs and the controls for the built-in arpeggiator.
