"The drum pattern is a simple repeating sequence (orgone accumulator BD, mutant machine SD and mutant HH). This will eat up your afternoon before you know it!"

Moog Music Discontinues the Last of the Voyager Line with the Minimoog Voyager XL

The end of an era. Note the original Minimoog Voyager was discontinued back in 2015.

I'm a proud owner of an original Signature edition Voyager SN 446.

via Moog Music:

"Today we say goodbye to the Minimoog Voyager XL, the last of the Minimoog Voyagers in production at the Moog Factory.

The Minimoog Voyager family of synthesizers holds a special place in our hearts--the Voyager was the final synthesizer that Bob Moog designed from start to finish and the culmination of his life's work; his DNA runs through the circuits of this family of instruments, which includes the Voyager, Voyager RME, Voyager Old School, and Voyager XL. The XL is the last member of this family currently in production, and as of today, we are announcing its official discontinuation.

Introduced in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Minimoog Model D's release, the Minimoog Voyager XL combines the heart of the groundbreaking Minimoog Voyager with a patch bay, informed by the original Moog modular systems.

Since its release in 2010, the Minimoog Voyager XL has made its mark in film scores, sound design, on platinum records, and on stages the world over. Artists and producers ranging from Trent Reznor to Kanye West have used the legendary warmth and versatile patchability of the XL to craft their unique sound.

As we bid a bittersweet farewell to the Minimoog Voyager XL, we keep the spirit of its circuits front of mind as we design the instruments in our future, acknowledging that the XL is the last of the Voyager family but not the last of its legacy.

We will build a highly limited number of units while parts and materials last, before bringing production to a close. Contact your local authorized Moog dealer or distributor to inquire about purchasing one of the final Minimoog Voyager XL analog synthesizers."

DSI PRO 2 AS AN EFFECTS UNIT ~ External audio input tutorial feat. Korg Volca Bass

Published on Mar 27, 2017 once upon a synth

"This is a tutorial demonstrating how you can use the Pro 2 synthesizer as an effects box for processing external sounds. I'm using the Korg Volca Bass as an example sound source here. The Pro 2 has an audio input jack on the back where you can plug in any audio source. Then you can bring up the volume of the external input in the oscillator section. Finally you must gate the sound in order to hear it and you can do this either via playing notes on the keyboard of by playing the sequencer. Once you have that setup you can start using various different sound processing tools like the filter, distortion, hack, decimator, drive and the 4 delay lines. On top of all that you can utilize the various different modulation options of the Pro 2 to further shape the sounds. The Pro 2 is a very powerful unit as an effects processor."

Jacques Mongrel - How I Learned To Love The Octatrack #1 + VLOG

Published on Mar 27, 2017 Jacques Mongrel

"VLOG English: 13:58, Español: 18:52, Catalá: 25:02, Français: 32:11
Playing out my first live Octatrack project after several years of sitting pretty on the memory card. Using the cue function to improvise more effectively. Radio, record, percussive samples combine to make some mid tempo jams, that start atmospheric and get more dancefloor friendly along the way. I edited the jam in a couple of places to shorten some longer passages and fix a couple of errors."

Vintage e-Mu modular.

"Sequencing on a very early digital sequencer - The Emu 2540 Memory Sequencer Modules. I just had them painstakingly fixed by Andy Horrell, who I bought the system from. These modules were made in 1973 and contain very easy digital / analog circuits. But they are really interesting to work with."

"Another patch on the Emu 2540 Sequencer compliment. This time I am using an extra voltage processor and Sample and Hold module to add additional modulations to the sequence in the previous video. See http://myblogitsfullofstars.blogspot.... for more"
