"PAIA 2720 analog synth. Well constructed to still be working after all these years. I cleaned it up, turned it on, made a simple patch, checked the oscillators and the noise. They work. The Control Oscillator module also functions. Voltage Control Amp, Low Pass and Band Pass seem to work as well, though with my limited experience, full functionality may not be there.

That being said, the synth sounds amazing, in a gritty, lo-fi way. Ran it through effects, and it really cuts. Capable of some nice drones and ambient textures as well as leads.

All keys work at the moment. Comes with original manuals and patch cables. Physically in excellent shape. Some of the lettering has peeled off. I've seen some people write on them with sharpie, but I will leave that up to you, the new owner."

Yet another Coron drum synth clone. What's bizarre is the Grant logo and design differs from this one. Why?


"A rare japanese made analog drum synth, exactly like the Coron DS7 and the now many countless clones.

It's in good working order with only a few blemishes here and there.

The three top knobs are missing the silver caps and the sensitivity knob I suspect is non original.

9v Battery operated, It works simply by clamping onto any drum rim and the internal sensor responds to the drum hit, alternatively a light tap on the side generates the hit to provide all sorts of fx bleeps and bloops."

"A new version of SUBSTANZ° is available for download and free for registered users.

Some really nice improvements here, and aswell, a little tweak of the interface.

Here the change log :

The Mixer and Send Effect command routing has been revised,
All “Decay” knobs have been recalibrated. The values are more accurate,
In random mode, sample selectors knobs indicate the value of the sample triggered in real time,
Addition of a “solo” button on each tracks, for momentary cut of the related track,
The Global Pitch acts now downstream of all the other pitch parameters (pitch per track and pitch step sequencer)
Improved GUI for FX Processorz. To access the parameters of each effect just click on the “Momentary” button. To apply the effect, click the toggle button now represented by the effect symbol. (Similar to the Block PROCESSORZ ° available in the RUL)
All the snapshots have been reorganized and partially renamed.
Addition of 20 new kits, for a total of 80 additional raw files.
A new bank with 33 new snapshots.
New bank of 128 snapshots which compiles all the existing snapshots as drum kits without being launch by the internal sequencer. These kits aimed to be instantly triggered by an external sequencer (DAW) or any midi source.
New reduced “view B” which shows only the main parts of the interface, in order to take up less space on the screen according to the workflow used within a DAW.
New NKS mapping (Light Guide, Native Map®)
The “scope” viewer has been deleted to optimize the CPU,

IMPORTANT NOTE : This update is not anymore compatible with Reaktor 5.
I took care allowing enough time for users to make the transition, but it’s time to move forward. For users which don’t have yet Reaktor 6, keep an archive of the previous version of the ensemble (1.0) and continue using SUBSTANZ ° with Reaktor 5."
