Switched on Kraftwerk - The Mono Machine

Published on Feb 24, 2018 TheTrackdriver

"A short cover version of 'The Man Machine' album originally made by Kraftwerk. All instruments and robot voices are created on an Elektron Monomachine and the simple drums on the Elektron Machinedrum. I added a little Lexicon MX200 reverb. Both machines are running in song mode. The Monomachine is synced to the Machinedrum via MIDI.

Note the artifacts when switching from one kit to another, especially where the delay settings are very different between the kits."

"At first glance, the Elektron Monomachine SFX 60 MKII tabletop synthesizer/sequencer looks a lot like an old-school sequencer workstation, and it is a sequence workstation, but it's a whole lot more too. Actually, the Monomachine SFX 60 MKII is more like five synthesizers in one, plus a powerful step sequencer and a crazy effect engine all put together with tomorrow's electronic music in mind. Seriously, this thing is way ahead of its time! Let's start off with the synth engines. First off, there's the SuperWave analog waveform engine and a DigiPRO wavetable synth - both synthesis mainstays. There's also the FM+ FM synthesis engine for all of those glassy, bell-like sounds."

"A deluge only track. Another weekend, another jam, so this is my third. This was a beautiful morning, nice weather... the coffee was good! Fired up this great machine the sound was a pleasure... and I was heaven ;)

Scuba - JD 800

Published on Feb 24, 2018 100 Things I Do

"So here it is, the JD-800 I have had this on the verge of being sold now for almost 7 months+ but it has survived so far! I have used a Lexicon Reverb + Sound Toys Filter Freak to create the main pad sound. Not really a track as such, more a sketch of an idea. Its a basic clip this week. Somehow between yesterday afternoon and today I have come down with a nasty cold!"

Behringer Model D - Pads? Why not!

Published on Feb 24, 2018 Earmonkey Music

"Someone made a comment that you can't make pads with the Behringer D because it is only one voice. Well, it may not be my Montage, but it has 3 oscillators and that's enough for a chord. Especially when you add some nice reverb and a little chorus and delay to get some space, I think it sounds pretty good."

"First live sequence with the Elektron Digitone. This little black box is definitely a box of wonder."
