Eventide H3000. The Cult Classic.

"Here is a demo of my favourite piece of gear.
This was actually done on a H3500, which is a H3000 with the optional sampling board.
Best to listen in between the speakers, or on headphones, to hear the large stereo image that the H3000 produces."

"Sounds are from: OB-6, Sub 37, MS20 mini and Animoog. A few samples were used too."

Note: yes this is more of an effects demo than a synth demo, but I make the exception for effects that feature synths, and this one was spotted and sent in via Soviet Space Child.

Synthwave LIVE Tweak

Published on Mar 20, 2018 tiergrinder

"While writing song templates I started to play the melody from The Midnights track Collateral and pretty guickly got carried away. After a while a had bassline and simple beat running and I wanted to make a quick synth noodling video.

The live set is really simple, main melody, bass line, pads and strings are all sequenced live from Ableton Live to synths.
Audio from synths is multitrack recorded in one take and I added effects and addiotional samples in post production.

All the synth sounds are as recorded without any editing, so there are some level issues, for example the mainline plays little loud when solo comes in.
I wanted to keep this honest and raw, what you see is what you get ;)

This jam is more or less an adaptation from The Midnights - Collateral.

Check out the their original version and other awesome tracks at their bandcamp : themidnight.bandcamp.com"

SIGNAL: ROLAND TR-8S & MOOG DFAM (FIRST LOOK)

Published on Mar 20, 2018 Signal Edinburgh

"Welcome back folks! Very excited to get my hands on both of these two lovely new machines. As I only had one night with the tr-8s, I just got stuck in and made a quick techno jam. Unfortunately I didn't really have time to experiment much with a lot of new features on the TR-8s as I would have liked too.

The DFAM is awesome, I'll be doing a few more vids on it. I pretty much use it like a synth in this video. It's being triggered by the TR-8s.

Hopefully soon, I will get access to the TR-8s for another night or two. I just got an MPC Live sent to me from AKAI, so expect some vids on that soon too.

Enjoy the video!"

017//Temple of Old - minimal modular background music

Published on Mar 20, 2018 Alastair Wilson

"Wait, you can make patches that AREN'T drowned in reverb?!
This is a rhythmic, semi-self-generating modular patch using a small Eurorack setup sent through an Eventide Space hall reverb and an Eventide Timefactor on tape echo setting. No other processing has been applied.

This patch is based on a basic pluck sound from the higher Mother 32 interacting with the 2 delays. The delay times are set so that the Mother 32 seems to be adding on a new note to the sequence every time the sequence is repeated in the delays, with the older notes of the sequence fading away. I got the feeling of tribal drums from this, and the name/lighting colour come from me thinking of Temple Run (if that still exists nowadays)!

If you want to recreate this patch, you can find it here:
