Folktek Omnichord (No Talking, Explanation in the Description)

Published on Feb 7, 2019 Stefano Bertoli

"First session with Omnichord modified by Folktek, alone with a simple reverb from MR12.
I play the different instrument rows, there are four, one by one, with and without the modifiers: copper tongues placed right below the omnichord
chords section, that deeply influence the sound of each instrument.

00:00 First row (lowest one): a sweet organ like instrument capable of deep lows and flute-like highs

02:24 Second row (right above the Omnichord chord section): a "vibrato" synth voice deeply influenced by both modifiers and by rhythm
tempo knob as you can hear at 04:01

04:32 Third row: the first half (left side) is a rhythm composer, more keys you press more complex you add to the rythm. Second
half (right side) is a sort of bass sound generator.

06:33 Fourth row: an harmonium generator, breathy and nasal as it is supposed to be.

08:31 Of course it still does work like an original Omnichord"

Morgasmatron Drum Filtering

Published on Feb 7, 2019 Intellijel

"A drum loop playing on Ableton live is fed into the Mormastmatron VCF. The uMidi is also synced to the DAW and provides a divided clock pulse that drives Steppy and advances through a simple 4-note sequence on Scales. This sequence pitch controls the cutoff frequency of the right channel of Morgasmatron to get a melody when it is fully resonating. When you back off the Q you are left with resonance 'trails'.
The left side of Morgasmatron is in BP mode and has distortion engaged for a gnarly sound.
The full filter tone is blended with the dry original loop with a Mixup module.

Just a quick play with some dirty beats.

With its distortion and dual multimode crossfading filters, Morgasmatron provides some great options for filtering drums.

By setting the Q just below self resonance, the input signal can excite the filter to resonate in time to the groove."

OP-Z Techno/Chill/Blip Jam: "Octo Techno"

"Jamuary is over, but it's Feveruary - and the only cure is more OP-Z!

A chill little techno-ish/house-ish/blip-thingy with some tape and performance effects. Carefully put through Ozone 8 as well. Enjoy!"

Song-A-Day & #RPM Challenge 7 - Disco Funk with Yamaha Cs2x and Roland CR1000

Published on Feb 7, 2019 ChrisLody

"Song-A-Day & #RPM Challenge 7

Today is a funky Thursday, and with that in mind here is some nice funky stuff from the Yamaha Cs2x and Roland CR1000 drum machine. The main beat is supplied by the CR1000 and bell tree, bass, pad and electric piano are all from the Cs2x recorded on tape. I decided to record the bass on camera and add other elements afterwards because I thought it'd be the most interesting to watch but I missed the LED VU meter of the Fostex XR3 so decided to overlay that from the full recording for that extra disco flavour :D"
