These were purchased brand new, and have never been outside of my home. Never modded or screwed around with. They have however not been used very often in the past years, and have been in dry/heated storage.
Both toms work perfect, but only Channel 1 is currently working. Channel 2 probably just needs a quick clean and service due to not being used. These can be used with any external trigger device, not just the included toms... but very cool that this is the complete set. You don't see many complete sets come up for sale.
If you're looking at these you know what they are... often duplicated, but this is where it all started!"

"Here I am with a video of that beautiful BoC's music piece. And there's a special guest here, my latest acquisition: an Oberheim OB-8 :-D
Like my previous Thriller and The Unknown Song videos, this one too is not a live show, as I want to experiment with video editing and improve my skills with that. I did from scratch the entire song in Reaper as usual playing all parts by hand (with the exception of the rythm of course), then I filmed myself playing the single parts as I would've played them for a live video (so paying attention to the timing, to avoid bump notes, etc...) and put them together in the final video, with the music rendered from my Reaper project as audio background.
All the parts you hear in the tune are from the keyboards as seen in the video. So the bass really is from the OB-8, the lead from the Jupiter 6 and the piano from the Nord Electro 3. For this last sound I used a piano sample from the Clavia's Mellotron library, as I found it suited to give that typical BoC's lo-fi vibe to the tune. To increase the lo-fi effect I added some white noise too, with different noise tracks recorded for the left and right channel, to emulate tape noise, and a good dose of dynamics compression.
As I found the original BoC's tune a bit too short I made my version a little longer by repeating one more time the last 8 measures, making a couple of changes to it (I removed the kid's voice saying "Hey" and reverted the lead sound back to the one heard at the beginning) and adding a string pad slowly fading in and then out as the whole tune fades away too.
