Lorn - Acid Rain | Modular patch on Endorphin.es Shuttle System

Published on Sep 20, 2019 TheEndorphines

"Meanwhile the heat wave has passed and the rainy season is just around the corner, we decided to create a patch based on one of our office favourites - Acid Rain by Lorn.
In this patch we are using Roli Seaboard Block to play the melody and change its timbre using different MPE data, including 1v/oct pitch cv merged with with 2 octaves pitchbender, gate output, velocity, aftertouch and the horizontal axis movement. As a sound source we are using the Furthrrrr Generator output of the carrier oscillator into a series of 24db/oct Transistor Ladder filters, one of which is being controlled by Grand Terminal’s envelope that is being triggered by gate from the Shuttle Control.Additionally the final audio is fed through a Hall reverb, which makes the overall sound smoother and more distant. Velocity, aftertouch and axis movements are controlling the wave shape of the carrier oscillator, giving the sound more room to breathe and more of an organic feel.

Moog Matriarch Delay Comparison: Matriarch, MF 104m and Moog 500 series analog delay

Published on Sep 19, 2019 Modular Landing

"In response to a request, here is a comparison of the Moog Matriarch analog delay with two other Moog analog delays: the Moogerfooger MF-104m and the Moog 500 series analog delay. The Matriarch is supposedly modeled after the Moog 500 series. So how close does it get? Let me know what you think in the comments!

BTW: I tried to level match them but it's a quickly made video so apologies if it's not exact."

The Two Prophets | Matt Chadra

Published on Sep 19, 2019 ClavAnother

"This was made entirely with a pair of Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 synthesizers. One is a Rev 2 and the other a Rev 3. They operate the same, but sound very different from one another. They also compliment each other nicely.

Unfortunately the video from this session developed a fault and all that remains are some random still photos which I put together as a slideshow.

Thanks for watching!"

OB6 PADS & KEYS

via Third Man on the Moon

"The OB6 is a very special and unique sounding analogue synthesizer.

With its 12dB state variable filter it is especially well suited for pads and keys. Since the filter is sweepable between low-pass and high-pass, blending in just a tad of high-pass can give you that nice fairy dust pads. Yummie!

To make a great synth special we have recorded the left and right channels separately and detuned them slightly for truly wide stereo sounds on 31 of the 50 patches . (Add a touch of reverb and/or delay and you’ll be floating in space!)

For the recording process we’ve utilized a chain consisting of hi-end solid state and tube Gear. Going thru a passive DI (Jensen Transformers), VP28 Preamp, BT50 EQ, Manley Variable Mu Compressor, Culture Vulture Tube Saturator and finally recorded into our Apogee Symphony MK2 Converter. No digital processing whatsoever as with all of our samples. Resulting in a big and wide stereo spread and warm tone.

The focus of this pack is Pads and Keys but you’ll find Strings, Leads and Basses as well to round things off. Download the free demo version of the OB6 Pads&Keys sample pack here"

DIY voltage controlled Xtal replacement

Published on Sep 19, 2019 juanito moore

Some DIY with Modular for the Masses.

"This is an optional part of the Modular For The Masses reverb module. This adds a voltage-controlled clock to the cheap Chinese digital reverb/effects circuit. With this modification, the reverb effects module can do vibrato, tape-wobble, all the crazy modulation you might want to do.

You can build it!!!

You will need:
PT2399 chip
Ceramic disc 100nF capacitors (get lots they're CHEAP)
Resistors (get a kit or buy 100 each of the most common values)
10uF capacitors
a 5V regulator (the 78L05 I use here isn't powerful enough to run the whole effects module I'm building, so in the final project I'll be using a larger 7805 regulator)
a 100K potentiometer
one NPN transistor, I'm using a 2N3904 (whoops, I accidentally wrote 2N3906 in the video LOL)"

spectral needs

Published on Sep 19, 2019 zack dagoba

"Purity of Buchla. Nothing else in this one - I set up 7 envelopes on the 200 series, being triggered by 7 trigger outs on the 100 series sequencer. The envelopes control 7 bands on the 296 Spectral Processor, giving it a sort of polyphonic note sequence, the source being a mixture of oscillators and noise. This mono signal was then sent to the Dodeca reverb and the 277 delay unit for stereofication"

"Freshly restored Simmons MTM (MIDI / Trigger / CV interface) in excellent working and physical condition with new battery and OLED display.

These are incredibly rare and don't come up very often or in this condition. And, 35 years later, it's still the best way to control your vintage SDSV, SDS7 or other non-MIDI drum modules via MIDI. Especially if you have a Hi Hat module - as no other interface will allow you to control Hi Hat Open / Closed.

This would also pair perfectly with the fully loaded, freshly restored SDSV < SDS 5 > I have listed separately." [just posted]
