Eurorack & Microbrute Jam (TX Wiggles 55)

Published on Feb 26, 2020 poorness studios

"This is nothing special, it's just a little jam I did with Microbrute and Eurorack one morning before work. It is really simple but I liked the way the various timbres sounded together, so I decided to share it."

dave smith instruments curtis filter exploration

Published on Feb 26, 2020 impurfekt

"please support the channel: https://impurfekt.bandcamp.com

the curtis filter module from dave smith instruments is exactly what it says on the tin; an authentic curtis filter for eurorack. it has both -12db/oct and -24db/oct settings as well as a +6db boost and an internal vca. here i explore it using the mfb vco/dco oscillator.

having a mopho x4 in the studio (and absolutely loving it) i'm quite familiar with the curtis filter sound. this module doesn't disappoint. it's raw, dirty and loves to resonate. it can sound smooth with the right source as well. during this session i was surprised to find it reminding me of the korg ms-20. it definitely lands in similar territory. i'm looking forward to doing some dark sci-fi work with it.

Vult DSP Freak Manifold Lateralus Sequence

Published on Feb 26, 2020 Robert Shipe

"Vult DSP Freak Manifold Lateralus (Moog Ladder Filter digital model 6, 12, 8 and 24dB options). You can throw a lot of modulation at it. Sounds gnarly, behaves a bit differently than an analog filter too. MI Plaits tri/saw/square/sync sequenced by Arturia KeyStep/Mutable Yarns. Modulated by a Blue Lantern Digital ADSR and Phobos Lunar LFO. Quantized by o_C Meta-Q. When I have the time I'll try to do a short vid for each filter model. Like usual I decided it sounded neat so I recorded it spontaneously. Very fun, cool, inspired filter.

"Model:Cycles
Six track FM based groovebox
Scale angles dense and jagged, glide over plains vast and fluid, or sink into mists of dissonance. To model is to shape the formless. Model:Cycles is a six track FM based groovebox that brings exploring into the heart of sound sculpting.

With six unique Machines in one lightweight unit you can effortlessly mold rhythm and melody across the digital spectrum using instant, tactile controls. Exploration made attainable.

Define the formless
The six Machines of the digital FM engine are unique to Model:Cycles, and cover both percussive and melodic synths, allowing you to make full, varied compositions. The four core Synth Controls put the tools of sound sculpting right in front of you, altering the behavior of each Machine differently and letting you push them to the limit. Every sound has a start, where will you take it?
Dedicated × 12
Dedicated knobs let you twist each Machine far and wide with wild, unexpected results waiting to be discovered. Use Control All to heave a parameter to the extreme and back again across every track. Elektron’s powerful sequencer gives you the freedom to record every move live or program the sounds and parameters of your composition one step at a time.
Light weight, heavy sound
Whether you use it as a versatile live instrument or groovebox on the go to pick up and craft full-blown compositions away from your studio, exploration has rarely felt so convenient and unimpeded.
