The end of an era - Absynth Removed from Native Instruments Product Line

video upload by Anthony Distefano

"Sad News! Native Instruments has removed Absynth from its product line.

This is my tribute to my favorite synth of all time. This is one of the first Absynth patches I made using the envelopes. The patch is based on Beethoven's String Quartet No. 15 3rd Movement. This was all done using Absynth's breakpoint envelopes."

"Absolutely incredible analog synth. Limited edition. Will be a collectible one day.
Fantastic use of ring modulation throughout, and of tuned noise. And great dual mono spring reverb.

It has that vibe that only the Model D reissue has had in the recent analog world offerings. It feels like an instrument, like a voice, not a toy. And you can program some deceptively deep sounds."

"Lighthouse song" by gattobus - Roland J-6 / T-8 / T.E. OP-1field

video upload by gattobus

"I recorded this song during my summer vacation in Vieste (Puglia, Italy).
I used Roland Aira Compact J-6, T-8 and Teenage Engineering OP-1.
They are without doubt the ultimate (and most fun) portable instruments for playing outdoors!
Everything's been played in real time and recorded with my old trusty Roland R-05 pocket recorder.
I hope you like it!

This track can be downloaded (name your price) here: https://gattobus.bandcamp.com/track/l..."

Weston Precision Audio - B2 Kick/Bass Voice & XAOC Devices - Koszalin

video upload by SchneidersLaden

"In this video we listen to two quite interesting modules, both in combination and separately. This is not a video manual or tutorial, just some sounds and patches with these two modules.

The Xaoc Devices Koszalin is a digital stereo frequency shifter with linear thru-0 and exponential FM - Xaoc Devices have once again managed to build a module on a digital basis, which delivers an incredibly precise and high-quality sound. Even if we push it to the limits more often in this video, the sonic quality shows in almost every situation.

The Weston Precision Audio B2 Kick/Bass Voice module describes itself virtually by its name. It features an oscillator, envelope, filter and VCA - in other words, everything you need for a monophonic, subtractive synthesizer - only here everything is designed to create kicks and bass. The versatile oscillator with waveshaper, the great sounding filter and the well thought-out user interface make working with the module a great delight."

V.A.I. 78 : CRB VOCO STRINGS / CRB COMPUTERBAND 2000 / SIEL CRUISE

video upload by Vintage Audio Institute Italia

"CRB Elettronica was one of many organ manufacturers in the Marche region in Italy. Starting in the mid 70s they did however branch out to produce a very limited number of synthesizers and drum machines for a domestic market where, due to a weak lira and high import taxes, Japanese or American manufactured synths were rare treats.

The CRB Computer Band 2000 is an analog auto-accompaniment machine with a range of chord and arpeggiator sounds with decay controls, as well as a bass section and a drum machine with individually mutable sounds.

The CRB Voco Strings is an Italian take on the Roland VP-330 - a string and vocoder machine.

In this video we're letting the CRB Voco strings process the CRB Computer Band 2000 via the regular audio input, while a third player, the Siel Cruise, a lovely Mono / Poly machine, is connected as an external carrier signal, via the instrument input."
