"This is an original (not a photocopy) service manual for the Hammond Novachord 1930s tube synthesizer. Actually, it's two complete copies of the manual, both 2nd edition, but different revisions. One is rev 1051 and the other is rev 1246. I don't know what the difference in the revisions is."
"This is the vermona cross filter. unique piece of gear, set up 2 filter sounds
and morph between them, or use them separately. very useful in the studio with
balanced ins and outs. The CROSS FILTER is the big brother of the ACTION FILTER
II. The most noticeable feature is the useful desktop housing and the chrome
fader in between both CUTOFF knobs. With that you can fade between filtered and
unfiltered signal to generate handmade rhythmical effects or simply got a mix
between direct - and effect signal.
Also new is the possibility to move adjusted band-stop or band-pass ranges
through the whole frequency spectrum. The CROSS FILTER is equipped with TRS in-
and outputs as well as RCA in- and outputs, as well as the internal power
supply. The CROSS FILTER is a very handy tool for live situations, but also in
the studio for filtering samples or whole tracks."
"The song Shashkin was recorded by Omar Faruk Tekbilek however I believe it has its roots as a traditional bedouin song. It was popularized at one time by Samira Tawfik in the song Ya Ein Moulayetin. Like any old song, it's roots and ownership will be disputed. The song is played on the bayati maqam (arabic scale). Since the electribe can't play this scale due to it being microtonal, I had to resort to monkey business to get it to sound (almost) correct. I didn't do much with the arrangement, FX or drums as I was focusing more on getting the microtones of the scale. I edited the video down to shorten it as it was originally 5 minutes."
Some pics via George Mattson of Mattson Mini Modular. The top two are from the recent PDX Synth Gathering. You can see a Mattson Mini Modular system on top of a panel. The panel is George's custom work and is part of his massive EML Modular Restoration project (see this post). There are two close-ups of the panel below. The second shot are two Buchla 200es. The left is Citizen Mori's and the right Dougcl's who hosted the event.

via this auction "The Roland RS-09 is a polyphonic analog String/Organ synthesizer made in Japan in the late 1970's / early 1980's. Similar but Superior to the Saturn 09 which can only produce an organ sound. This early Revision 1 Is Built Like a Tank To last, its later incarnations had all plastic keys, with a little moulded lug to retain a short horizontal return spring, the keys on this model are metal backed, with a stout steel plate which attaches to the longer vertically mounted springs. every key has a urethane rubber bumpstop, & employ a more substantial contact system, than the later variants. It is composed of two distinct parts: one ORGAN part and one STRING part. The two parts can be played together or separately. There is also a nice built-in ''ensemble'' effect. The ROLAND RS09 is an ideal string/machine for those who want to enjoy a nice typical synthetic violin sound of the 70', without spending a small fortune on a Solina string ensemble. The Roland RS09 is found in productions such as The Cure, Talk Talk, Simple Minds and aphex twin The unit has STEREO & MONO Outputs, aswell as Headphone Jack, & Organ Raw Signal Out & Gate out. A sustain pedal socket & An Audio IN Socket. This combination of Outlet & an Inlet, make the Unit extremely verstaile as part of a system using other devices."
"This unit features a 2-1/2 octave keyboard with three voice selections: Guitar, String, and Tuba. All of the voices sound great and are pitch adjustable. This old synth requires a standard Boss style 9V Negative Center power adapter which we're including with this auction."
"Really fun beat box with dozens or rhythm combinations. Patterns include Fox Trot/Swing (each with 6 different variations for kick/snare and brush/cymbal), Rock 1/Rock 2, Rock 3/Rock 4, Ballad/Western, Bossanova 1/Bossanova 2, Tango/Habanera, Rumba/Beguine, Mambo/Chacha, Samba/Bajon, Waltz 1/Waltz 2 - and multiple rhythms can be selected at once to create more complex rhythms ala Jarre's 'Oxygene 4.'"
