And some additional information from Todd Barton's email list:

"Tonight at midnight on my Bandcamp https://toddbarton.bandcamp.com and all day tomorrow I will launch a never before released, rare Music of the Kesh digital download track for a one-day-only fundraiser, Juneteenth, 2020. Please consider donating from $5-$25. Bandcamp will be donating its share to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and I will be donating all of my share to @williemaerockcamp More on Willie Mae Rock Camp in a moment...

Recently I found Kesh-style piece in a pile of old cassettes earlier this week. Back in 1988 Ursula K. Le Guin asked me to write some new Kesh music for her presentation and our performance at Mythcon in Berkeley, California (see video). It was wonderful at that time to revisit the musical vocabulary we had created years earlier. This music was composed to be played while people entered the space that evening. I hope you enjoy this rare Kesh piece. And remember all monies go to support social justice and anti-racism: NAACP Legal Defense Funds and Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls.

WMRC is a non-profit music and mentoring program that empowers girls, women and/or gender non-binary youth and adults through music education, volunteerism, and activities that foster self-respect, leadership skills, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. https://www.williemaerockcamp.org/home

WMRC is the brainchild and guided by the multitalented LaFrae. I just love her energy, vision and musicality

And stay tuned for the upcoming Willie Mae Future Sounds Academy which will teach synths, afro-futurism and music technology to girls & gender non conforming youth in NYC.
Contribute please if you feel so inclined.

All best wishes and gratitude, Todd"

Mystic Circuits: PFRsillator Mini - Fundraiser for Protester Bail Fund

Mystic Circuits

"I'm using some DIY kits that I had from a previous fundraiser to raise money for the Minneapolis and Los Angeles Freedom Funds as well as for Afrorack. If you would like to donate to these organizations directly the links are:

https://www.gofundme.com/f/peoples-ci...

https://minnesotafreedomfund.org/

https://www.afrorack.org/

If you would like to buy the kit, go to our website: www.MysticCircuits.com"

"A simple DIY kit designed with DIY beginners in mind. The full kit comes with everything you need to build a PFRsillator Mini along with a power supply (wall supply in the states, 9V battery for international purchases). There is a complementary build video to show how to build this kit in real time, showing each step in detail without fast forwarding through anything. The synth itself is a touch-based noise maker which is very responsive to small differences in pressure. You want modem sounds? This thing makes a wide variety of them.

‍This kit is intended to fundraise money for the ongoing BLM protests happening now, of every order $20 will go to the Minneapolis Freedom Fund, $20 to the Los Angeles Freedom Fund and $5 to Afrorack. If you would like to donate directly to any of these organizations please check their respective links [above]"

Control In Solidarity with Black Lives

via the Control newsletter:

"Hello Friends,

This week, we will be donating a portion of our sales to the nonprofit Equal Justice Initiative, who have been working for community-based reform since 1989.

We firmly stand in solidarity with Black Lives, and will continue to protest for the wrongful deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and countless black lives that have been ended by police brutality and systemic racism in the United States. These are our loved ones, our fellow musicians, our neighbors who greet us, and community members that uplift our lives. We will not allow these injustices to pass and demand accountability.

The following are resource kits given to us by friends and family that encompasses education, volunteering, legal help, memorial funds, and organizations. This is offered in multiple languages and in various regions of the United States. Please share widely with your friends and loved ones:

ASTROGENIC HALLUCINAUTING
Late Night Noiz For Late Night Fiends
This piece was written after seeing the horrific murder of George Floyd. The piece is designed by the sound of an inhale and an exhale. This...representing the breath that George Floyd tried to acquire.

The entirety of the piece is eight minutes and forty-six seconds long.
The duration of his murder and fight to breathe.
Both of the audio and video slowly fade to black for the duration of the eight minutes and forty-six seconds.

Madrona Labs Giving 100% to the Black Youth Project

via Madrona Labs

'Hello, friends.

It's tough times. We hope you and your families are in good health. We know you know what's going on, and you have probably heard a lot of takes on it from a lot of companies so we're going to keep this to the point.

Just over a week ago, Minneapolis police killed George Floyd, the latest in a long history of unjust Black deaths at the hands of law enforcement. Since then, the outcry has been ringing out in protests all across our country. The violent suppression of these protests by police has resulted in more injuries and deaths. We stand in solidarity with the protesters and with the Black community.

How can a music software company contribute positively and constructively in this moment? For us, the answer is: by sending funds to those doing front line work. We're writing to ask for your support.

The Black Youth Project is an organization that both provides emergency funds to Black community members in need, and invests long-term in the future of Black leadership. They have chapters in many U.S. cities including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, DC and Detroit. From their website: "Our work is generally centered on ending systems of anti-Blackness and emphasizing the urgency of protecting folks living on the margins of the margins, including women, girls, femmes, and the gamut of LGBTQ folk." To find out more, please visit https://www.byp100.org/about.

From now until the end of Friday, June 5 (Pacific Time) we'll be donating 100% of our sales to BYP100. As a family business, our pockets are not deep enough for an impressive direct donation right now, but this way we can leverage the software we've made to direct some funds where they are sorely needed. We hope you'll help.

We and some folks we know have been contributing individually to community bail funds around the country and that is another way to help right now. If you are interested in contributing to these efforts, here’s a link to donate to many community bail funds at one time: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bail_funds_george_floyd

There will be a time soon to get back to music, which is more important to us than ever as a force for change, as meaning and community and connection. But this week is not that time. If it were not for the inspiration of great Black music, Madrona Labs would not exist. We owe the Black community our help.

with all best wishes,
Randy Jones
Madrona Labs"

Note the image above is from Madrona Labs Kaivo page. I thought it was representative of the current state of society. We can make it out, but it is broken, and it cannot be whole until we make it whole again.

TK and Hawkeye - Air Time

YouTube Published on Jun 18, 2012 by ucapps

"A jam session that I had together with Peter aka. Hawkeye (sitting in the background) in his studio - see also his YouTube channel for more great music: http://www.youtube.com/user/Maelstroem3 !

At 1:16, Peter added an impressive FPV recording made with his model airplane flying at the south border of "Starnberger See", a lake between Munich/Germany and the Alps.

Used instruments:

Hawkeye: directly played an Access Virus C

TK: used his MIDIbox SEQ V4 and BLM16x16+X to play an Elektron Machinedrum for the percussions, Moog Little Phatty for the bass, MIDIbox SID for additional basslines, Yamaha FSR1 for the pad sounds.

We started a bit uncoordinated, but found our style after 1..2 minutes.
We hope that you enjoy the video anyhow! ;-)"
