Published on Aug 20, 2015 Waz Radar (CBMods)

"Mods:
3x Rotary Switches
1x SPDT Switch
1x A/B Switch

I love this unit. It does some very unusual things, and is very diverse in the way it self composes. I plan to use this for some recordings in the near future."

"Mods:
6x Rotary Switches
1x A/B Switch

99 patches loaded, incorporating piano, electric piano, harpsichord, vibraphone, clavichords etc, and plenty more.

The circuit bent aspect provides texture, unusual distortions, tremolo (flutter) effects, pitch and harmonic variations etc. Designed to fit snugly into an existing rack unit.

Perfect for minimal compositions - countless tones and textures to wade through. Beautiful stuff!"

"4x Rotary Switches *
8x SPDT Switches (on-off-on)

* Each Rotary Wheel has 6 bend points on a 12 point rotation (6x on and 6x off positions).

So as you rotate the switch clockwise: 12noon = off, 1pm = bend point 1, 2pm = off, 3pm = bend point 2, 4pm = off, 5pm = bend point 3 etc etc..)
-----

As with all CBMods, this will play as stock with all the modifications in their neutral ("off") state.

Send a MIDI signal through via midi keyboard, daw or external sequencer, select your onboard presets (16 track multi-timbral MIDI) and use the switches to manipulate the sounds.

(Of course there is plenty more you can do - patch editing etc - but this is an excellent way to get started. Don't let MIDI scare you. It's brilliant).

If thoughtfully arranged, the results are likely to be the most interesting compositions you are ever likely to hear.

I have added a bunch of fantastic sysex patches, though all of the original presets are available on-line. Feel free to contact me for further details.

Every Rotary Wheel is linked to each switch, resulting in literally hundreds of thousands of possible bends. Maybe millions. (Any probability specialists out there??)

All modifications are accessible via a custom painted, super clean & spacious interface.

The break-out-box is re-inforced with quality, experienced workmanship.
This D-110 is designed as a standalone unit, though it can be placed at the top of an open rack, or on top of a closed rack if need be.

A rare and exciting sonic beast!"

"14x Modifications via:

12x RCA Patch Points.
2x SPDT Switches (on-off)

Vintage Akai Sampler - Released in 1993. Used by Daft Punk and many others I'm sure.

This unit has an expansion board installed to double the sampling time to over 30 seconds.
16-bit, 3.5" floppy disk (5x brand new disks provided), no SCSI interface.

Playback and sampling can be controlled via footswitch (provided).

Essentially this is a gutted old Akai Tuner (Radio) bolted into place, with 12x patch points and 2x Switches mounted to the front panel.

This design allows the user to use the unit in a rack (should they choose to do so).

A great sampler, clean, analog, crunchy, drop the sample rate to get some really cool sounds. You are also able to reverse, edit and loop samples..

5 brand new disks included (along with 2x coloured patch cables, and power charger).
------

In bent form, expect splicing, chopping, bizarre filters, ring modulation, bit crushing, distortion, time stretching, EQ. All kinds of audio savagery..

Your sample will return to unbent when switches are returned to a neutral position. Completely stable and very user friendly."

Published on Aug 8, 2014 Waz Radar

This is the first CBMods post on MATRIXSYNTH.

"Modifications: 7x switches.

This modification has 7 very distinct bends. In combination they hold up really well and you can get some very unique, strong settings. One of my favourite DM's to work with."

"Designed & modified by
Circuit Bent Modifications - CBMods

Looks absolutely stunning, custom painted in gloss white and heritage green. Immaculate, detailed workmanship and quality components. Built to last.

Demo:
Circuit Bent / Modified Yamaha RX-17 MIDI Drum Machine Percussion Module
(Note that this demo was made prior to painting).

Modified with 7x switches.
Drum Machine will function as normal when all 7x switches are in the off position, but when on you will find ring-modded/vocoded sounds, pitch related effects, bizarre filters, odd synthesis, rhythmic drum varations and much more!!

Use switches individually or in combination. Designed so as not to crash so you can really go to town and find some mind blowing rhythms and tones.

Play via MIDI controller/ sequencer or use the on-board drum pads and preset rhythms to make the sounds - and then let the circuit bent switches work their magic!

If you're into making weird, wonderful, exciting, contemporary styles of music (i.e. ambient, noise, jazz, IDM, Dubstep, D&B, unclassifiable etc) - that's a bit out of the box, then this is definitely for you.

Comes with power adapter.

This item will not be re-listed."
